I have been meaning to post this for a few days, but.....

Tarrant, who has moved back to Victoria, said he would retire if he was not at Collingwood next year.
That threat has been dismissed by Fremantle and the AFL.
An AFL spokesman told the Herald Sun: "If he nominates for the draft, he plays for who selects him - or he doesn't play at all."

Read the paragraph and tell me the AFL spokesman is not saying exactly what Taz was......

On why WCE would go for this trade it's easy to look for some bigger picture deal but I think it may be as simple as WCE intend to use the Fraser compensation in a non-comprimised draft where it will be a much lower pick then 45.

Go thank the Weagles, they have given us pick 45 as they will be using their last pick on their F/S selection of Brennan (which they will use now with the Fraser compo).

edit: To clarify, I believe the LOWEST the Fraser pick could ever be is 51.

I would say one. Hine certainly has something lined up in the 40's which is why we wouldn't budge with Freo.

The second trade with West Coast could have been in the pipe line in case we were going to budge with 43 on Tazz.

Man I feel bad for Freo, a broken down Taz with a bad attitude for Meddy and Reid, Meddy becomes AA while Taz struggles, Freo finally manages to fix Tarrant's attitude and turns him into a borderline AA KPD only to return him to Collingwood for a packet of chips.

Pick 38 actually because there'll be 18 teams then, if we came last in 2012. Fat ****en chance. I beleive the compo pick it used directly after our 3rd round pick.

That is a seriously smart move from West Coast if they had no intention of using pick 45 this year.

If you gete him on the track, he will be AA next year. He was on his way this year before his Achillies went down. I can't beleive how good he became down back, no one scored directly on him and his rebound out of defence was huge.

Sorry Eddie, but its not a mates club. Mick Malthouse is the best coach we have had since Jock McHale, and the only reason he is going is so Eddie can look after his mates. Dear Wade,
While I can understand your misery, what with the Mighty Pies winning a flag this year, I really think your whining is dragging down the tone of the club.
I can imagine from your tone that you really are a heart and soul Collingwood supporter and only wish the very best for the club.
So I think that you would happily, for the interests of the club you love, go and rip all those Brendon Fevola, Sticks Kernahan and SOS posters off your bedroom wall and burn that Carlton jumper you are wearing.

Well he only played 13 out of Fremantles 24 matches this year, played all 22 the year before, 16 the year before that

So yeah he misses a few games most years and at 30 years of age having just played his shortest season due to injury its pretty fair to worry about how injury prone he is

Way off. If Mick is the wonder coach that he thinks he is then why doubt his judgment on Tarrants return? I'm sure Chris is a very differnt person than the one that left the club all those years ago.

Whith regards to the coaching I think Eddie made the right choice. Sure we won the flag but there was a huge chance we might not of. How long was he supposed to give Mick?
