Haha, I'm sure he gets paid regardless of how many papers are sold.

Bk, if the Chronnie got rid of Nonch because of declining distribution, it would be like " The Daily Planet " arseholing Clarke Kent for being out saving lives instead of covering the flower show.......Oh and Nonch,I wouldn't bother sending off that resume for the job as Sports Editor at the Age, or you could end up covering the flower show the way The Age is going :D .....

Pretty sure Hargreaves is over in western Australia now! Did hear umpire from milawa v's north Wang put a complaint in about the north Wang crowd.
North Wang had a fair crack on Facebook about the umpires Friday night! Not a good look

Heard today that the umpires board complained to the league about Nth Wang and its supporters last week...Threatened them with no more umpires etc....any truth ????

There was a complaint made, and one of the umpires resigned. North Wang also made a complaint about the umpiring, and it's in the mediation process at the moment.

Your the one that has got it wrong not ratpack the fact the moyhu has never made a real atemped to get a 3rds side in any of the last 15 years . As for this year the fact is your president was asked to be apart of the southern sun this year and was even involve in some meetings to form the side ,but when given the option from king valley & greta to be involed he told them moyhu had decided against it that is the real
facts , if you dont belive that go ask you president
If every club looking for numbers and there a few out there tells a 16 year old kid he good enough for senior we will never have a junior comp for the rest of the kids to come through but of course moyhu wouldn't care less

Really Brown Snake??? And how would you know this? Would like to know your involvement with Moyhu and how you would know what "our" president said. I know my facts and you know your facts - maybe one of us is right!

How would you know that Moyhu has never made an attempt to form a 3rds team in the past 15 years? I have personally been involved in an attempt in this time, so would like to know how you know?

Sorry I was meant to write this...

I know we do bag the Hat Wearers on here from time to time but from what I heard they were afraid to leave the ground. No umpires, no game..Apparently Nth Wang had a sponsors day on as well..

I wasn't at that particular match, so can't comment, but on a general level I think the abuse umpires cop is disgraceful. Most games I go to it isn't really an issue, but occasionally it gets pretty heated and some of the things people yell out are pathetic.

I know I "Go on about it" but whilst knobheads like Sam Newman are allowed to constantly bag them the average punter who is not much more than a smart monkey thinks it's ok....

PS...Good write up on CT too mate. I think at this stage all has gone well and he will be home today or tomorrow...

Yeah I've got nothing against a bit of criticism and the odd derogatory comment - it's all part of the game and umpires know that. It's when members of the crowd start yelling out threatening insults and calling the umpires by their names that I find it really distasteful, and by the sounds of things there was a bit of that going on at North Wang, leading to one ump calling it quits, which doesn't do the game any favours.

But yeah, terrible injury for the kid, even more so given the form he's been in. Saw the xray and it looked awful, so I can only imagine he would have been in a pretty bad way. Hopefully the surgery went well and there are no ongoing issues for him.

Could some some rearranging of the deck chairs in the bottom half of the 8 this week.....danger games for Moyhu and Tarra both....Haven't done all the sums because ICBF but one of the may even drop out...I think.
BK, Is this the first time Belly has played against you since he left...

Yep, first time we come up against those blokes that left.

Am interested in thoughts on Milawa to date. I read with interest comments of a potential mass exodus of players & disharmony with the coach prior to the season beginning yet to date their only loss was less than a kick (after the siren). Everything to date suggests otherwise???

I reckon they are the benchmark so far. I guess alot of things where said preseason, but they have let their football do the talking so far!

Up until this point in time they've been reasonably lucky with injuries. Given that their magoos are 11th on the ladder would indicate that depth will be an issue for them if they lose a couple of KPP's with injury. In our one and only meeting we were ahead of them for most of the day minus our 3 key forwards....they are beatable but luck seems to go their way...

I haven't seen them this year, but yeah, the exodus of players has certainly hurt their twos, so they do need to keep their senior players on the park. As for Simmsy, he tells me he is enjoying coaching a lot more this year and the focus is really on being able to grind out wins against good sides, which is something they didn't really do last year. "Playing a style of football that holds up whatever the conditions" is something he's said a few times. They seem to be mentally tougher than they were last year.

FWIW I still don't believe there is a clear standout, and there isn't a coach in the league who believes his team is ahead of the pack. I think there are seven teams capable of winning the premiership this year.

Nonch, I reckon you might be on the money. Someone wrote on here earlier in the season about Milawa's depth & suggested there were a number of ready-made senior players in the twos which may explain the seconds slide down the ladder. Yes I reckon they've done well with the injuries too. It justs seems all the other sides in contention have lost games they were expected to win but Milawa keep plodding along. I expect this year they'd prefer the tougher run home than last year. In 2011 the breezy draw in the later Rounds did them no favours when challenged by Tarra in the Prelim.

This weeks tips
Doon over Moyhu by 8pts cos it's at Serenity Stadium and Moyhu still short a few
KV over Bright 42pts
Milawa over G/rowan by god knows how much...Tipping a score higher than Greta's..
Whor over G/bat 100 plus pts
Nth Wang over Tarra 50pts
Great over Swannie 80 pts....Belly to kick 15
Benalla over Tatong 72 pts....
