Re: UNI beat St Virgils in '93 Grand Final

Shame the old man finished the game on the pine, would've been a good one to be out there for!

Thanks for putting that up though duff, he'll love that. Good to finally see Jamie Preshaw's helicopter after hearing about it over and over again for 17 years.

I know it is only early day's, but I would assume all clubs are now training. How are clubs shaping up at this early stage? The word is Channel are struggling for numbers big time, would be interested to hear how other clubs are shaping up at this stage of the year. Would probably think it is too early to tell?

I have heard that there is a crisis meeting at the salmon pen happening this week.
Be a massive shame if they can't get the numbers to continue.
They seem to have heaps of money and good sponsors. Why can't they keep thier side together from one season to the next?
Can any one confirm that Bouwman has gone to Claremont?

The saints have had pretty good numbers on the track at Ogilvy when I have been past, haven't been in for a look so I couldn't tell you any names.

The ships have picked up Andrew Triffett from Clarence.

Dosa by all accounts have had really good numbers on the track but most of them are young blokes.

Richmond have signed Nick Braslin from Lindisfarne. ( can't confirm )

all australian interchange John Mazey has left university.. they say he wasn't getting along with some of the coaches!!
he is chasing big money in adelaide with his mate charlie rae..

Mail out of Snug Park is Toddy Lewis has been appointed senior coach and his buddy Field Reeves will be in the saints colours next season as well. How many more Uni players will be tempted by channels big spending??

uni have lost a few players i think. Mazey, Reeves and rumour has it Gilmore may be tempted to Bellerive Oval next year to play a similar role to "Budgie" Geappen's last year in forward line.

Massive blow to the Roosters. Kim Harvey has left the club.

Anyone know what is going on with him next year?
Harv is going overseas in late May i think, more a case of not wanting to start something he can't see through until the end. Pretty committed sorta bloke is our Kimberly. He'll be back in the maroon and yellow in 2012 without too many issues i imagine, great bloke/player:thumbsu:

Mazey the only one gone, Gilmour signed in November, Reeves was at training pre xmas and Lewis has declined Channels very tempting offer to have another go with his mates. The rumours are Channel are finished, has anyone heard for sure? Lampril at Kingston, Joyce Huonville, Butter's not playing according to a mate at Kingston.

I hear recently that Beams has retired and not playing this year, apparently his body is going on him, rumour has it that maybe it has something to do with the amount of runs he has been scoring this cricket season and a potential Australian call up...

Lewis has declined Channels very tempting offer

Channel have apparently appointed former Cygnet, Southern Cats, Kingston and Glenorchy full forward Michael Darcy as 2011 Senior Coach.

No doubt that will be costing them a fortune.

Thoughts?

Would be good to get a few Channel opinions on here!

Cadoras has been very rarely sighted on here of late.

Channels got a ad in the paper today for the restart of training which says he's the coach.

Mail is around 25k's for Pud's signature have offered Halton and Watson from Cygnet huge money will be interested to see if they can win a game this year!!!! with joyce and darcy in forward line will be potent but will need to work on midfield and defence to improve on last year.Time will tell money doesn't always bring success!

Still lurking about Barge,

Michael Darcy signed on the dotted line after Lewis was originally signed up but resigned due to the fact that he couldn't get a few quality players to come down with him as part of his contract.

As for the $$ - I wouldn't have a clue but don't think it was in the vicinity of 25K as mentioned elsewhere.

Halton's name has been mentioned along with a couple of others, still early days yet though.

Joyce still with the club as far as I know.

Lamprill up in the air about what he wants to do, has said he would have an answer soon.

Bouwmann still off on holidays so not sure whats happening there

Mason back training with Claremont.

Butters = ?? no idea

Lorkin - looking likely to have some time off footy as he is building a house (?) that was "pub info" = probably not true.

Thats all I am aware of.

spoke to a player from claremont footy club and he told me that brendan rogers is heading up that way this year, anyone no what mantis is doing and y he would and what kind of lose would that be to oha seeing the talent they have picked up this year etc

Rumour Creese from North Hobart has signed with Hutchins as well as a few other players. Can't see Hutchins dropping off with the only losses being Harriss and Palfreyman

Expect Channel to host some players from North Hobart. President Bob Smith (ex- North Hobart premiership player) has offered players from North a game at Channel if they miss selection in the seniors. Seems that the North players will be at Cygnet and Channel. :thumbsu:

Haven't had much action on here of late.
How are clubs shaping up?
Who, where and when are clubs playing in scratch matches?

Heard big G Splann is heading down Richmond way. Certainly could play in his day. Haven't really heard too much of him the last couple of years. Could be handy.
