A crying shame if proven true. Despite his divisive nature, Larry's contributions here are tantamount to genius. His knowledgable local insights and passion for the game have never failed ruffle a few feathers, but always worth a read. Hope it isn't true.

It’s late Feb and the offers have been few, and very low. I still haven’t got one anywhere near what I want, so I’ll have to pretend I’m injured to give myself more time to attract offers. At this rate I might miss the season with “injury” and just go for influencer promos from medical and health businesses.

The offers being few and low is a very strong hint to him ... but old boy Joe Dirt doesn't seem to be able to read the room like the rest of us can.

These clubs are probably offering him the right rate but he thinks he is worth more .

Ron Laffy. I don’t know too much about him and his previous football career or who he was involved with, i can only assume by his behaviour at his sons games that he might have had some problems. Think he had 3 kids. I remember one of his sons Darcy being handy, kicked 4-5 for wang against yarra in 2017 in the seniors then possibly won the 2s goal kicking? He went out to Glenrowan for a year then they folded after the following year. Think there was another boy and a girl. Happy to be corrected on any of the above. If he really is big laz I was in aware he was involved in the rovers

Given the lack of posts since last Saturday , it seemed that maybe Ron was Big L. Ron passed away late that Saturday night. Certainly had connections to Glenrowan ( good) and wang fnc ( unusual) . Premiership player at Elmore . So , old school footy. Maybe . Went to school with the Laffy boys . Good sports players. Des , Ron , Neville . The term used for Ron was passionate. A few could think of a few other adjectives. Had his health problems .
So , unless someone else owns up?

Been heading along to local footy on both sides of Golf Links Lane for the last 30 years, and can’t recall ever seeing Ron at a game at City Oval that wasn’t a local derby. With the depth of inside knowledge that Laz seemed to possess, I’d be highly surprised if he was Peter Parker to Spider-Man
