On The Couch - Mike Sheehan: "10 Things About Fremantle" 5/8/13

Was a great analysis. Still a bit disappointing that Johnson didn't get mentioned. He has easily had the best year of his career and still doesn't get enough kudos for what he provides. Should be one of the first Fremantle players put in the AA team.

Hey guys, In China so no video :thumbsdown:. Can someone please list what the oracle has to say about us.:rainbow:

The 10 things were:

1. Won 22 of past 29 games
2. Only conceded 85+ twice this year
3. Won last 14/15 games at Subi
4. Use Interchange 2nd most of any team
5. Sandi, Pav and Lukey combined have only played 22 of past 54 games
6. Suban & Mzungu: Under the radar
7. Clarke's improvement relives pressure off Sandi
8. Spurr locks away their best small forward
9. Clancee: Reliable and creative down back
10. de Boer: Elite pressure player

Other points:
- Sheehan has us finishing 2nd (Geelong, Freo, Sydney, Hawthorn) [Tipping Pies or North to beat Hawks]
- Pav and McPharlin will be back ready to go
- Sandi needs to plant his feet and make the defender get around him in a forward marking contest
- RTB should give Sandi a block of time the next 4 games to build confidence in the forward line
- Resting should be considered - Mundy/Barlow possible candidates

Thanks leungtl thats some interesting reading. It's getting harder and harder to deny we are a serious contender. Sandi, Pav and Luke in the same team is the key.:thumbsu:

I'd have replaced 4, 9 and 10 and added in an 11!!!

4. Best defense in the competition, particularly Ibbotson and Johnson in intercept marking
9. Mayne is the best defensive / pressure KPF in the competition
10. Walters and Ballantyne are the best small forward combo of 2013
11. Ross is the best tactical and game day coach in the competition

Just my impression but thought he was trying to highlight players that have perhaps slipped under the radar. The ones you mention along with Ross already have quite a bit of hype compared to the ones mentioned. I personally thought it was quite interesting and that he'd put a bit of effort into finding things that people didn't know rather than the 10 most important things about freo.

We need to win our remaining games by about 60 points each, so that we have a chance of over taking swans percentage.

We need to hope that collingwood continue there good form.

Crunch Games
Round 20
Anz Stadium - Swan vs Collingwood.
Round 21
MCG - Hawks vs Collingwood
Paterson - Eagles vs Geelong - Not expecting a win, but a least tire them out for the next week.
Round 22
Skilled - Geelong vs Sydney
Ethiad - North vs Hawks - North a chance at Ethiad
Round 23
Anz - Sydney vs Hawks

How do we make top 2 -We need 2 of the 3 things below to occur.
Swans drop 2 games Or we gain 20 percentage on them and they drop 1 - If they drop the game at Skilled Stadium, losing 1 of the games against Hawks or Collingwood is likely.
Geelong drop 1 game - Geelong have a fairly easy run, and have not lost a game at skilled stadium for a long time. Unlikely.
Hawks Drop 2 games - I would say the Hawks vs Collingwood is a 50/50 game, if collingwood help us out then there is a chance this could occur. Lets hope collingwood win the next 2.

I would love for Geelong to play Freo in a GF, over the past few years this match up has produced some great matches and is starting to turn into a really good rivalry A grand Final would cement the growing rivalry between the two teams.

I think you will need top 2 to get in, but you are the only team in top 4 that doesn't have their fate in their own hands so you need results to fall your way and some top teams to slip up.
