Once again, Essendon fans blame injuries for another incompetent season by the Bombers ...

Basing your future around Cam Cloke and Shaun Hampson and you claim Essendon's future is bleak:D:D

Celtic, face facts that without Fev you would not have won 3 games this year. You have no future spine and your only glimming light is a Fraser clone. I laugh out loud at you and your club:D:D

What is this - stupid bomber posters post as much drivel as you can day ?

We beat WCE by 6 goals when Fev kicked 4.

We beat Freo by 9 pts when Fev kicked 1.

We beat Port By 11 goals when Fev kicked 4.

We beat Richmond by 5 goals when Fev kicked 4.

We also beat Port by 2 goals when Fev kicked 2 goals, beat the Dogs by 5 goals when Fev kicked 6 and beat the Lions by a goal when Fev kicked 2 so if whomever played in Fev's place could've got 1-2 goals a game we'd have won those as well.

So there's at least 7 games we'd have won without Fev. Idiot.

And can you please tell me what "glimming" means ?

I think it's predictable to see the same usual childish insults

maybe we can solve our 'potholes' by tanking for 5 years, getting the no.1 pick, get the best kids available, then do under the table deals to get the best player in the comp. Yeah that could work!

Actually, take out Fev and the best defender then goes to your next forward (whoever that is) so to claim they would have kicked all those goals is just plain stupid.

Facts are, without the help of Fev you won only 4 games, so I was one off. Future looks great at Carlton:thumbsu:

also "glimming" is "glimmering" spelt incorrectly, what are you daft?

The way the game is heading Fatboy will be gone end of next year, and we all know Fev is one binge away from delistment so i'd be surprised if he plays next year.

Judd injuries (which Carlton selfishly didn't allow him to get over) will get the better of him so i'd be surprised if he plays out his 5 years.

That leaves Gibbs who will be a star and Murphy who needs to work on his kicking to lead your club. You have Fraser MK2 in the ruck and no defense or forwards to build around. Not sure why Carlton are seen as a team of the future.
Judd is actually on a 6 year deal, thanks.

No, I'm not daft. Are you illiterate ?

Your crap about "take out Fev" is all hypothetical, and your point about "all those goals" is plain wrong. Fev's stand-in would only have needed a goal or two for us to win those games where Fev kicked more than the margin, which is quite plausible.

FFS, the same could be said about Lloyd - how many times did he kick more than your winning margin this year ? What does it even matter ? We've proven we can beat a side like Brisbane with Fev kicking only 2 goals out of our total of 18. We're not as one-dimensional as you'd like to think.

Yeah, the best defender goes to the next best foward, he kicks 2-3 goals the same as Fevola would and we take a different avenue to goal. You make no valid point

I am 100% sure, there is an interview in last weeks heraldsun which states Judd is not on a 5 year contract which everyone says he is, he is in actual fact on 6.

Wow, 6 year contract? I know it's Judd but that's a massive risk to take.

"They would they only need a goal or two"

You say this likes it's easy to replace Fev, or are you expecting your midfield to cover 90 odd goals he's kicked this year?

Please, do tell who these other forwards are that would have kicked Fev's goals?

We are upset as we didn't get to put a season behind our future players, having only 22-25 players to choose from (our last month) does take it's toll on the club. Would we have made finals with a good run of injuries? who knows, but what we do know is we have a competetive unit on our hands and only got to play our best 22 in round 1. Carlton have played their best 22 all year and still relied heavily on Fev and Judd to carry them along.
I know which team i'd rather be following, not too late to change again Celtic as once a fickle supporter always a fickle supporter:thumbsu:

What are you talking about? Bannister was out all season!!!

I am by no means a fan of Essendon but I cannot remember a club being decimated by injuries as bad as they have this year.

Perhaps they should change the teams they support celtic_no pride:confused:

Yeah, i was considering converting religion from Essendon to Muslim.
Would be a bomber supporter still though if l did which would render the conversion pointless.

It's wonderful how the competition will get a huge wake up call from Essendon in the coming years. Recent drafting has been outstanding.

Every year we are told that we have no good kids. Let's look at our last 3 drafts.

2005
Ryder (pick 7) and Lonergan (pick 50) only two to have a good run of games, both impress and establish themselves in our best 22.

The earlier draft picks in Dempsey (pick 19) and Neagle (pick 39, bargain for F/S) are extremely talented, injuries have held them back. Hocking (rookie selection) was set to have a breakout season but was plagued by OP.

2006
Jetta (pick 18) finally strings about 12 games in a row and looks the goods.
Davey (pick 36) already proved himself last season in his first 14 games.
Houli (pick 42) great signs in the first half of the year.
Reimers (pick 47) established in our best 22 to the surprise of most.

Gumbleton (pick 2) and Hislop (pick 20) are as talented as any of the above but just haven't had the chance to show it yet.

2007
Myers (pick 6) and Pears (pick 23) only played a handful of games and battled lots of fitness problems. Will be ready for AFL next year and establish themselves in our best 22. Daniher (pick 39) will get the chance to prove himself and push for senior selection next year after being injured for most of this year.

Basically, our most promising picks in Gumbleton, Hislop, Neagle, Dempsey, Myers and Pears are just simply not rated by most and dismissed as if they don't exist. Lots of people are going to be reevaluating their thoughts on our list once these guys get into the seniors next season.

Sshhh, let them keep thinking we have no young talent!

Outstanding post as usual Guzz. However I fear its wasted on these Carltank people who are rumoured to share the one brain (the person who has their turn with it this week obviously isn't online).

That's fine by me though. I'm more than happy for them to find out the hard way.

Yeah, what a great post? I could go and show you our last 3 years of draft picks. What does it prove, once again another useless post from a useless essendon supporter.
