One year on Feb 7 - Anybody still think infractions are coming?

You mean the same Dank who could easily have spoken up and cleared up this whole mess a long time ago, or heck, just produced the permission (letter/email) from none other than the governing body to use the substances in question in the first place?

If he's got nothing to hide, why would he instead allow his reputation to be completely ruined, and maintain that he will risk the few thousand $'s a day, and refuse to cooperate with the investigators should they come knocking? Principles? Unlikely, just ask Sandor Earl. Because Dimwittio was disrespectful to him in the media? Because if he sings like a canary he might end up in the harbour in a pair of concrete shoes...?

Until they talk to him everything is still up in the air.

For mine, this investigation is dragging on at least in part because once ASADA choose to use their new powers under the legislation, it's go time. There is no point going in half-cocked, since I assume that they would still need to make an application to compel him to talk (due to the punitive aspect should he refuse), and there would be a burden of proof associated with that.. By the time they speak to Dr Dank (and they absolutely will regardless of how much he pounds his chest in the press), they will know all the right questions to ask (and for the most part what the answers SHOULD be).

Stay tuned, as a poster alluded to earlier it's not over until ASADA/WADA/whomever come out and say one way or the other that it's case closed.

I'm always up for honest answers.

1. I'd like to hear if he was interested and if so what it was about.

2. Couldn't give a stuff. Coaches can do what they like. He could be snorting crack off a whores arse and I couldn't care less.

3. Assuming facts yet known. How do you know he didn't?

4. Be interesting, but then scale is not an indicator of legitimacy is it?

I'd like to hear from some "honest" people too.

I'd like to hear from ASADA that not only have they never told anyone that AOD9604 is permitted for sports people, that they've also never told anyone it's not prohibited.

I'd like to hear from the AFL just exactly what was inadequate about the supplements documentation of other clubs.

I'd like to hear from Shane Charters who owned the phone he allegedly saw the blood test results that indicated players from other clubs were on the gear and I'd like to hear from said phone's owner who they were.

What I'd most like to hear however, is Stephen Dank tell the players at Essendon (and any other club he worked at) exactly what substances they received.

Oh, and I'd like to hear from Ian Collins whether the salary cap amnesty only came about so that when he left Carlton to work for the AFL he wouldn't be left with his arse in a crack due to his intimate knowledge of their salary cap position ;-)

I'd also like to know who killed if JFK and if Elvis is really still alive. And next weeks lotto numbers.

All good questions. I'd like to hear those honest answers too.

In the meantime, we have a rare occasion of dishonest people actually being caught red handed and being investigated, and here we have people who profess to liking honesty are supporting their lies and obfuscations.

Is the jumper really worth that much?

That's a presumption. How do you know, given the AFL's investigation turned up players sourcing their own supplements, that the players weren't from the AFL?

MULTIPLE players from Essendon and one player from one other AFL club are being investigated for possible performance enhancing drug use.

AFL deputy chief executive Gillon McLachlan addressed the media in Melbourne on Sunday and said the Australian Crime Commission report only identified two specific cases where WADA prohibited performance enhancing drugs may have been used in the AFL.

McLachlan confirmed one of those clubs was Essendon - who went to the AFL with concerns over supplement use before the ACC handed down their report on Thursday.

"I think it's reasonable to assume that given the Essendon Football Club has come forward to the AFL and to ASADA and proactively advised us of concerns they have, it's reasonable to talk to them," McLachlan said.

Asked then if Essendon was the club McLachlan had referred to when mentioning "multiple players", the deputy chief said "yeah".

Lol at the former circle jerk in every thread, counting their chickens because their completely arbitrary perception of how long an investigation of this (prevented) size and magnitude should be completed is not up. Gee this game of cheap shots is fun

amidoinitrite?

soz bud, not quite. at least my statement deals with the reality of the situation.

why can't y'all accept that considering the case is still open, considering there's strong circumstantial evidence that prohibited substances were administered, considering dank hasn't even been interviewed yet, considering the (further complicating) link with the NRL, considering the head of WADA's comments, considering how long it's taking ASADA to deal with sander earl... that the chance that the case still open and that infraction notices may be issued is a very real possibility?

the reality of the situation is that none of us have any idea about the status and current progress of the investigation. sure it may be game over, but there's also compelling evidence to suggest that the case may be grinding on. i know you like your team and want this to just go away already, but that doesn't make it real.
making assumptions about how the case is closed is nothing but counting chickens before they're hatched.

preaching to the converted bud

Never said anything about finals. Points deducted would have most likely meant a wooden spoon and a lower draft position. I'd have thought people who have been pedantic about proof and accuracy would understand the difference.

oh plz, being relegated to 9th was just some feeble and stubborn attempt by EFC to save face (oh noes plz vlad no wooden spoon plz) that was entertained by the AFL to push through an agreement on punishment. being relegated to 9th has the same effect as losing points, and for all intensive purposes they're essentially the same thing. would essendon be positioned in 9th with the amount of points they were on? nope.

y'all planning on playing for 9th again this year? cause you know, feel free.

also cool draft position y'all ended up with :thumbsu:

yeh, theres him
but aren't we all expecting that to not eventuate?

why wouldn't we expect it to eventuate? who decided this? oh the great brains trust here? come now, fact is we have no idea what ASADA are going to do.

though i'd find it pretty strange if ASADA didn't at least talk to the guy that instigated this whole thing, wouldn't you? i'd also assume that given the barriers dank's put up, that when they do interview him, ASADA would want to do their due diligence and have a pretty solid case against before pinning him. i mean, why would he talk otherwise?

I want to see the truth come out. Not calling for heads on sticks until the end of the investigation is hardly supporting lies and obfuscation.

No, he's expecting people to apologise for something he was wrong about.

He wasn't saying Essendon weren't the team on page 17. He was saying Gil Mac didn't say that at a press conference others were adamant he had. Spot the difference?

I've never said anything to the contrary. My position has not changed throughout. I want to see the investigation completed and the evidence uncovered.

Is there a podcast of that?

awesome, we're on the same page. but let's not defend the circlejerk on page 16 who think otherwise then.

Lets not condemn it either, unless you're going to condemn every other circle jerk on here on both sides........

While I agree, and I don't think EFC didn;t stuff up, that much is clear.

The jerk circle goes the other way to those that want Essendon gone at all costs. And take some kinda joy in it.

And then there are those of us that want to see the right outcome - that those responsible for this appalling situation are never in a position to do so again.

No argument from me. What has yet to be established is who is responsible and exactly what the "appalling situation" was? I don't think that any of us will ever know the truth on either of those matters.

I know there are. Just there are a lot here for poor reasons. That makes it hard to have a decent conversation with people, without people coming in for a shit fight from either side.

Tbh there should barely be a second side it's pretty clear what happened, only reason why people are fighting is because they refuse to believe red and black did wrong.

Yeah, that's it. It couldn't be that there are people who prefer to wait for an investigation to conclude before making their minds up. Nah, that sounds too, let me see, grown up.

I don't agree. There are always 2 sides. If it were as simple as many here think there would be infractions. They may well still happen as the investigation continues.

I don't find the picture we're presented as matching everything we see, personally.

you cant say that
as DonsRule says
theres always another side to the story
always
the majority on HTB would do well to keep that in mind

What's so damn hard to understand?

If theirs a valid reason: Doctor's contingency stock, TUE or medical use by a non-player, no damn problem.

Why do you insist on insisting otherwise?

Agree - also - most of us - like 99.999% aren't involved in a sport signed up to the wada code.
