Met one awesome girl on Oasis but in the end it didn't work out
The major success however was on RSVP
Took a major gamble when a profile without a picture showed some interest but waited for me to fork out the cash
Luckily for me she turned out to be real, cute (when i finally got a pic) and eventually the love of my life
Been together 18 months now, lived together for a year and now I just need to save for a ring

Just saw this post- about 10 years ago I tried RSVP for idk close to a year? Was useless.

Maybe I should give it another go..

Have always had more success in person but to each their own, i have lots of friends that use it and they seem to like it.

Over the duration, I've had lots of dates and relationships, both from meeting the old fashioned way and from online dating....a mixture of both. And a mix of good and bad from each type. Many people have had some fantastic successes from online dating (I know some of them personally), but from an overall perspective (at least for hetero guys), I'd have a read of these articles below. Barely the tip of the iceberg....

Given men and women both generally still want a relationship (if not always the same from it), where do women meet men? Since it seems to be on ‘vanilla’ sites like E-Harmony and RSVP they are outnumbered at least 2 to 1 and as you go ‘less traditional’ like Tinder the numbers only skew worse the more away ‘old style dating’ the site caters to.

I met my wife online playing a MUD (think text based World of Warcraft), over 20 years ago, before dating sites were even a thing (and neither of us were playing to look for a relationship). I’d hate to doing the online dating meat market as a guy these days. No wonder 20 somethings are so self absorbed as regular looking guys get nowhere it appears.

The checklists bit would have to be the most unrealistic bit. Common checklist would be ‘at least six foot’ (goodbye 60% of the population), earn good money (so above average, so by definition more then half gone) and in good shape (given the numbers overweight again half gone). Now there’s some truth that being taller corresponds with better pay and health, but that’s still 75-85% of guys knocked out before even personality, interests, life goals are mentioned. And by lots of women that if the tables were flipped wouldn’t get near making the checklist.

I found that as a guy under 30, unless you were tall and decent looking it was a waste of time but once you get into your 30s it starts to change and women become less picky. That's providing you're not a man child.

That’s not surprising. The ideal age for men (not all men, but the ‘average’ ideal) is women in their 20’s. For women it’s men their age or slightly older. So 20’s something guys wanting women their age are competing against their peers, plus those 30-60. If they’ve let themselves go there’s still plenty of decent rigged 30 something guys to beat them on that measure and on wealth almost all will lose out to most guys 30-60 if the woman is putting a premium on wealth.

There are really a lot of site for dating. I have used Tinder Match and so many more services but my favorite one at the moment is beauties-of-ukraine.com I found my match very quickly and the girls there are really pretty and cute. I took me ony a couple of days to find her.

For women... Online dating is like online shopping. They pick and choose what they want.

For men, online dating is like a job interview.
Mate, be yourself. Truly yourself and the best version of you.

You won't have to go on an online app ever again. They will come to you.

From what I experienced, as a early 40s male whos ordinary looking with a bald head, dad bod and kids:

  • 3x more women from mid-late 20s interested in chatting and meeting up as opposed to people around my age
  • Tinder generally only good for something short term
  • Bumble genereally better for having deeper conversations and a connection with

Had one medium term relationship from bumble and now in a long term relationship from bumble. I hope never to have to use them again
