soft spot for Carlton out of pity
A month ago I would have said Hurley was going to be staying at Essendon. Now it looks like he'll leave, along with the rest of them, perhaps even Heppell.

Anyways, as far as cap space next year goes, we will have room. Swanny, a legend of Collingwood and the AFL, may have played one of his last games, and I doubt he will play on next season after that horror injury. I'm gutted about this, but there should be a silver lining, and that is cap space to bring in Essendon players or zilch.

Swan retires, White de-listed, Cloke's contract reduced to 250Kpa, and I'd say we would have easily enough cap space to bring Hurley in as a DFA.

A long way to go in 2016, but our list managers would be talking to Hurley, we should be aiming to claim his signature by the end of this year.

Hurley suits us better than Hooker

But **** after last night neither would want to come to the club.

I am on the Hurley bandwagon, would be a great fit for the club. The kid has turned into a very good footballer, 25 and unrestricted. (only need the cash and contract)

We should be chasing Ben Reid's brother Sam as a back up or for spare parts.

If I could take any two players to add to our squad Saad from the Gold Coast and Tom Lynch also from the Gold Coast.
Dangerfield and Fyfe would do me fine.

unfortunately with reid brothers even the spares would break down

Cloke is not going to take a 600k pay cut. 250k is about as low as it gets for a senior player. He will get at least 500k.

if swanny retires [hope not] and clokes lower pay we would be able to bring in hurley if he is a free agent.
with hurley back we could swing reid forward. although reid is a better back, he is also a better forward than hurley

The 3 X H's are getable for the Pies if they put in some serious work on them. If you believe what the press say, free to walk if the price & environment is right.

Floret Pica.
