Was discussing Carlton’s future with a rusted on Bluebagger yesterday and he was talking up round one big time.
I’ve always subscribed to Leigh Matthews theory that to have success and win a flag you need a good spine. Bulldogs 2016 is the only team I can think of in the last 30 years who have gone against this idea, but it does stand up.
Carlton’s spine is pretty ordinary as it stands. McKay has shown a bit, Weitering has a long way to go, Curnow I’m not sure about, and Jones is fair at best.
I just can’t see a spine you could call on for the next 5 years.
Bring on round one...!!
