'Hocking gets flung'. Now they are the three most important words about the future of our game today.

'Hocking eats dung'. That's what I think we'll see.

As for Selwood and Scott's extravagant praise for him, Selwood is one of the most universally reviled players. They will name an award (potentially more glamorous than the Brownlow) after the player who takes him out.

Imagine if it was toby Greene or Tom lynch?
They would literally be hung out to dry
Hang on, Toby Greene got off scott free for his whack behind play on Newman the other night. I'm sick of people standing up for that dirty campaigner. And remember, he also tried to give Liam Baker a bit of a facial in a grand final 12 months before Selwood thought of it and nothing was made of that either.

So he should have got off. It was soft as butter and Newman took a dive

I’m not defending him, I agree with you. I actually didn’t know he got off that, would’ve been rough to give him a week for a love tap to gut tho

punching face and eye gouging on the other hand….. and then “accidental”stomping

$2000 fine for “stumbling”. Yeah, ok.
And Selwood gets suspended a week for any more incidents this year. Is that correct?
He's the king of dog acts. Deliberate off the ball. Lower than a pregnant snake. Just can't stand that football club.

Nah they removed that rule a couple of years ago. That was the whole uproar with the Cotchin/Shiel incident. If Cotch had been fined, he would have automatically missed a week.

The only thing the MRO can do is send it to the tribunal for repeat incidents. Example is Lynch's multiple fines and eventual tribunal hearing for low impact off the ball hits last year.

Selwood is a grub though, has a long history of getting into players while they're on the ground. Staggered it wasn't given a week considering the potential to cause injury that is in vogue right now.

thanks for clearing that up for me. there's a potential for concussion too when opponents face and head are involved. can't standing geelong is a backhanded compliment for them being in contention year in year out

hitchhiked to rye in one in the late 80s

the lovely man that drove it told me how he was a world war II vet and all that sh*t... different times
Hell I never thought you would remember our conversations after so many years!!! ;):)

So did the Camira in 1982 and the Ford Telstar in 1983.

fun fact - I enjoyed my first intercourse experience in the back of a 1983 Ford Telstar with a lady who could only be described as extra-large. Thankfully the Ford Telstar with its smart and forward-thinking use of cabin space could accommodate us both easily

Mum asked me to tell you to remove this post. You know how much it pisses her off when you mention the Telstar Dad.

I think Newman is soft as butter! That’s why he went down the fairy
Yep, no problem with him walking for the Newman hit, but no denying he dished one out unnecessarily. But I'm still not gonna listen to punters constantly defending Greene - he's got a choice to make in all those incidents and he's often gone down the campaigner route.

Lynchy did last year too, albeit ALL of them really mild incidents, and even Dimma suggested he had to step it back a bit. Meanwhile the media all went to town on him. Everyone carries on with the tear-jerker "if that'd been Toby Greene he'd have got 4 weeks", but it's just a complete myth. He's got off reall lightly for some of the sh*t he's pulled on a footy field.

Now, I'm going to say - "If that Greene hit on Newman had been Tom Lynch ..."
