How’s the AFL making round 1 featuring a weds night and Thursday night games
We love our fans, but we don’t actually want to make it so family’s can come to the games or anyone who has early morning starts

Couldn't think of a better way to kick off the season - traditional 2.10pm Saturday timeslot, the weather should be still mild/warm at the time of year, opponent is a big drawing club (which will help with the $$$ being our "home" game)

Because them and the AFL are hypocritical sooks .
Happy to take the money in home and away games but start sooking it up when the finals roll around .
They are a joke of a club , biggest underachievers in tbe AFL /VFL history when you factor in all of the geographical advantages they have had ( this includes St Kilda , they could only wish to have half a state as their recruiting zone for over a century and 10 / 12 home games every year at the same ground . It’s west coast and Port Adelaide like favouritism .
Their arguments about hone games at Krapdinia Park have in fact worked against them in finals , talk about fking with young men’s minds ! Well played dckhead Chris Scott and Geelong MediA Mafia .
They are forever irrelevant.

They’re not on Friday night though. Sunday’s always the dead zone.
I guess, while Saints vs Collingwood isn’t a blockbuster the AFL can pocket some Pies cash while the fans still have some optimism.
Should be handy for the Saints coffers to have a Friday home game against a big drawing team
Ben Hart played SOO in 1993, a month before his 19th birthday. He was also AA that year, for the second year in a row!

Hart was an outstanding player
They needed to wait until every last conceivable patch of snow had disintegrated to ensure people didn't have something else on they preferred to do.
This is such a bad Rd 1 fixture
- Why have the GF replay in Rd 1? Neither team will be playing at their best and you've just used up an opportunity to have a larger crowd in another round. People will want to go to Rd 1 anyway after not being able to go to the footy in so long, so why use it up now? If anything the Wed night will result in a smaller crowd than it could have got on a Friday or Saturday night and it will likely result in a smaller crowd for Thursday night as well.
- Same for the NSW derby, why put that on so early?
- StKilda vs Collingwood on Friday night primetime??? Did you watch their seasons in 2021?
