I almost feel sorry for North. I remember their last game of 2023, saying you may as well put your house on GC, as with Harley Reid for the taking there’s not a chance in hell North would beat the Gold Coast.

And now you have the richest club in the country on their way back as a club as they got Reid, and you’ve got North still fumbling down the bottom.

Harley Reid was memberships, crowds, sponsors, excitement, wins and hope…. i don’t care what anyone says about ‘winning culture’ blah blah blah …. North winning that single meaningless game was an absolutely horrific result for that club.

If I was a North supporter I’d find it bloody hard to deal with watching Harley Reid for the next 15 years knowing if you’d just won 14 games in the last 4 seasons and not 15 he’d be wearing a North jumper and you’d be loving footy again.

I still shake my head at the stupidity.

I'd rage if Richmond did that. One of the most ridiculous reasons to win that I've ever seen. They'd already lost 20 games in a row at that point. They thought winning that game would eradicate their losing culture, but it did nothing.

Harley Reid would've gone a long way in fixing their culture though. You can tell how energised the West Coast players are with him in the team. Big mistake throwing Reid away for a Gold Coast win IMO.

I thought Andrew Dillon would change things as a fellow Richmond supporter. But he did nothing for us so far.

Instead, it's Essendon that have joined Collingwood and Carlton in umpiring favouritism.

after 2020 they brought in the stand rule / dissent etc to stop us winning any more flags

and at that point the league had a 'lightbulb' moment and realised they could manipulate the results of every game they needed to, to get their preferred team wins

afl games after our last flag are heavily scripted. its now sports entertainment not a real unscripted sport

But our recruiting should absolutely destroy theirs with much more funding .
We are talking 38 million more annually.

remember the fighting tiger fund so we could invest into our footy dept

we made millions out of it and the afl brought in equalisation before we could use it

so rfc fans were tricked into believing they would help the rfc but the money went to minnows instead and allowed dogs to win the 2016 flag and shemans etc to easier wipe their massive debt and then win a flag themselves

I think the CFL has taken care of our takings by screwing us over with the fixture
