druggies attempted cover up, stand rule, run 20 metres out of the goalsquare, dissent , farc, above number sponsors, extra sponsorship on front of guernseys , all the woke crap they force on us , simon lethlean ploughing half of afl house then moving to club land, shocking moving to his old club after changing the rules to disadvantage the premier after his old club lost to em again, all the corruption , etc etc

all under his watch

the worst afl ceo in history by far

the game is completely ruined and a shadow of its former self. all the games feel like a simulation. im nearly out . if they dont get rid of the farcical stand rule at the very least I'm gonna give it away

I ECO out a couple of years ago but hung in there because of the culture the integrity and the incredible resilience of this club. I love it and it’s thrilled me watching it claw its way back and grow into such a stable powerhouse winning no less than 3 premierships in the past 6 seasons. 🖤 What a feat, and I’m certain we have at least one more left in this group, and with a stable Board and Football department that will ensure we remain competitive for years to come.

Getting back to your point about the changes to the game, I decided that if the club can continue to forge ahead in spite of the shite that it has had to contend with from Gil and his AFL cronies, then I’ll proudly continue to support it. And hope that soon someone with integrity will take over from Gil the dill.

Gil having a round 5 exit date is actually some of the strangest sh*t I've heard. When you're dealing with an organisation as corrupt as this and something stinks you can't help but question it. He's not going to be overseeing jack in those 5 weeks by as they'll have the investigations well and truly wrapped up/swept up before the season starts.

There's no way they're doing it just to send him off in his abortion of a magic round. So why wouldn't they have the new CEO in place before round 1? Or if Gil is planning on starting the season, why wouldn't he just see it through until the end? Really no logical reason for a straight up organisation to plan a CEO transition for just over a month into the season. But there's reasons to do it when you're a crooked cesspool:

Wouldn't be surprised at all if this is them leaving themselves 5 weeks to have a look at how we and possibly some other teams are going about things and attacking the season. Gives them the opportunity to either hand over to a new CEO who's equipped to make some targeted off field changes, or some short term puppet that will go along if they want to screw with the on field stuff like umpire interpretations. Round 5 is about the perfect time to have enough of a look without it being too late. It's no big jump from any of the other crap they've been dishing up lately. In fact with the blatant corruption in key roles within the AFL you could argue something like this is just the the next logical step.

All we know for sure is after finally getting the season they wanted this year, it'll be the first time in a while there won't be any BS rules cooked up in the pre-season. But you just know they're getting itchy fingers and will still concoct some crap at some point to feel like they're in control. Only difference to years gone by is they're fine with things carrying on from how they ended this season so are setting up for a wait and see approach.
The only logical reason I can think of is, they have actually found his replacement, but they are unable to, or don't want to leave their current role immediately, and potentially are required by their contract to take "gardening leave"

So it's all hush hush, will be announced in Late Jan early Feb, then 6-12 weeks later, in the top job. And depending what industry they are from (assuming it's not football) then Xmas period is usually the busiest for most industries.

Otherwise it's just big Gil stroking himself for another couple of months to feel important.

Timeline leaves plenty of room for the new CEO to be in place by late March for round 1 so the handover happening 5 weeks into the season sticks out to me. Can't trust this admin as far as you can throw them. Going by their track record when something feels off it usually is.

Guaranteed the appointment will be controversial. AFL is over governed. Too many far cats. In 2018 the top 12 AFL execs pocketed nearly $11 million.

Rank amateurs Dickie. This bloke could mentor AFL House to elevate them into a professional level

Tom Browne exclusive.
Riley Collier-Dawkins in complex four-way trade with Clarkson Roos.
We pay $400K of $600K for five years.
The way Tom Browne brown nosed all the tiger fans in Brisbane after putting up that Dusty article still riles me.
He was waiting for a scoop "I was attacked by Tiger fans" but noone did, they were courteous to him.

The highest paid player at the biggest club. Introvert, bit of a quirky background. Senators getting sacked, Not necessarily clean cut is news unfortunately. Fortunately for us dusty can handle it and it hasn't driven him out of Melbourne.
I just had a look at an episode or 2 of Bikie wars.... I could imagine an Underbelly The Dusty Martin Story. Hunt For the Wilder people meets Once Were Warriors meets Flight of the Concords.
Who plays Dusty? Trent's hair? Benny Gale? Peggy? Shane?
I want these kids in it somehow.
