you just know Nick Daicos is going to be gifted the Norm Smith. Given its a media award and he was crying he didn't win the Chas he'll get the sympathy vote
Especially with Darcy leading the voting team

Lions did not deserve to win that they just did too much wrong, but due to their efficiency kicking for goal the umps have dead set decided that game in the end, absolutely baffling how one team drops and the knees gets every single one paid high, must have been 6 or 7 of those, the other team gets genuine high tackles paid holding the ball.

They won by 4-points at their home ground versus a team that had won there once in about 15 attempts. If game is anywhere else but MCG Lions win easily. Fortunately our finals margins were so big the home ground advantage couldn’t be blamed.

i mean, Collingwood had 9 more scoring shots, if anything they probably should have won by 5ish goals

all i take out of this season is we just need one of our ex player to pop out 2 midfielders, one of whom may be the best player in the comp in his second year and well be right up the pointy end again ;)

And they had 32 less I50’s in QF. Fact is their 2010 and 2023 flags would likely not have been won without home ground advantage. That’s not their fault, just the facts.

oh i 100% believe they rode their luck to get to the grand final,

should have lost to melbourne any day but that one in particular, and the gws game was a coin flip with some bery poor swallowed whistles costing gws

but they were simply better than brisbane today and only poor shot accuracy made it close

It is a bit deceptive the scoreline. Off the boot it was 12.13 v 13.8. And Collingwood allowed more walk in goals because their defenders push up the ground so assertively. So Collingwood had 4 extra scoring shots that were not rushed.

I do think the Pies ended up about 5-6 free kicks better off than they should have on the free kick differential. This would likely account for about 3 scoring shots.

The umpiring was so bad in at least Collingwood's last two finals if you ran a replay of every high tackle in the two games and added up what Collingwood gained out of all that it would be substantial. But put it more simply, how can the rules change between a PF and a GF a week later? Last week you get your head ripped off no free kick, maybe even holding the ball. This week you get touched high despite clearly dropping at the knees....if you play for Collingwood it is your free kick. It is a mess.

Gifted a flag from corruption don’t give
A * what anyone says
Why in pivotal moment’s against the giants they get the rub of the green
Same as the grandfinal, the games turned into fifa corruption levels
Sad what footy has become
and nobody can do shite about it

what the corrupt afl wants the corrupt afl gets
