There will never be a world without guns, does gun control work? Perhaps it does, but criminals will still get guns through the black market. It's foolish to say that gun laws will make guns dissapear

And that's when they get picked up by intelligence and arrested, like has happened here.

Would take a long them in the US to get the number of guns down but it could be done.

And if the government banned bombs terrorists wouldnt have used them in London, Spain, France, Belgium, Russia, Boston.
Oh wait, they have banned bombs.

So if it can't be banned completely, don't try at all? What a great attitude! In the USA; Bombs are banned completely, Guns aren't. Guess which one takes more lives?

There are over 300 million guns in the US, it's 112 guns for every 100 people.

1 in every 3 households is armed. Or 100 million gun owners.

From reading debate online I've noticed that many Americans can't even comprehend the idea of a nationwide gun ban, usually when I see it discussed the argument is one of "Well those guns are banned in that state anyway, so it wouldn't have made a difference" or "Only 5% of gun violence happens with legally purchased guns".

The constitution amendments are drilled into them so hard that guns are part of the way of life, they have had 133 mass shootings (which is 4 or more people shot) in 2016 which is 164 days.

In 2015 there was 372 mass shootings.

It's such a terrible tragedy, 50 people who didn't have to die and nothing will be changed, in fact 100 million people will be on their guard to protect their right to own deadly firearms. It shocks me to the core how an entire nation could either stand by and do nothing (or even worse, vehemently protest) when the solution is screaming at them in the face.

If you were given 3 options to solve the problem of mass shootings, they would be A) Get rid of guns, B) keep the same amount of guns, or C) Get more guns. Which one would you pick.

I literally cannot comprehend what is the purpose of owning a gun outside of professional use.

The alleged shooter was apparently a licensed security guard, so would have been able to legally acquire a gun no matter what the laws were.

There are plenty of instances where "gun control" could have prevented/reduced the risk of a massacre, but this doesn't seem to be one of them.

Security guards can't have AR-15s in many countries though.

If you make the semi auto, high powered weapons illegal and limit magazines sizes then a guy like this can either try to buy them illegally and maybe get picked up or go in with a handgun and double barrelled shotgun and only kill maybe 10 people.

Most of these nuts just want to kill some people and die at the end so they will mostly use whatever weapons they can get easily.

Apparently perpetrator was brainwashed online by Islamic fundamentalists.

Further it appears he had been conversing with some patrons of the bar on a gay app? Possibly part of his reconnaissance as he apparently had been to the bar several times before.

He was apparently also violent to his ex wife who described him as mentally ill.

Odds are he probably was secretly gay and the conflict between his desires and his faith drove an already unstable man over the edge. How many times has the ranting preacher turned out to gay? This guys just took it to the next to level: "if I kill gays then I can't possibly be gay right?"

Did anyone hear the shooter's father talk. He was also blaming the club's lack of security.....
Father sounds like a bit of a nut too.

Perpetrators ex wife suspicious that he was gay.

Stick to the topic of the mass shooting itself please. Take discussion on gun control to the SRP board (thats what it's there for)
