I'm happy to give them equal 4th last, because it's equal with Freo. Ha ha.

Good point.

Three are behind / equal with them. Two have been new to the competition. The third became an utter basket case when Ron Barassi left them and it took 50 years to recover.

I’m surprised they’ve won 45%. This century would be interesting

After reading this post I did a quick check about how many Premierships they have actually won in the AFL era? Given the extent that the Carlton supporters on the main board bang on and on about how successful their ancient history has been, I expected they would have won around 3 premierships? I remember them being quite strong last century.

It has been one. That’s it, one solitary Premiership in the AFL era. One!

Gawd, they have been a rabble.

I swear, the only reason we give that mob any attention is that it’s fun to jump into the drivers seat of a 1970’s Karma bus and go on a road trip to the funky town of Schadenfreude.

And they cheated for that one.

If you believe the rumors that Pickett wants to go to Perth, maybe Brayshaw for Pickett swap.
Melbourne is a dumpster fire rn, Oliver and Trac will both request trades again this year. Brayshaw wont want any part of it, regardless of the family ties.

Nothing like a nice funky town.

Retired footy star Zach Tuohy says if any AFL player came out now as openly gay he’d feel safe in a football club environment.
The former Geelong and Carlton star says the footy landscape is shifting and it’s only a matter of time until a player decides to come out publicly.

“I don’t know (why no one has come out), I can only say that right now in the game or the game that I left is feels like an extremely safe place for somebody to come out and certainly any teammates I’ve had at either of the clubs I’ve played for... (they’d) welcome them like his brother, protect him at all costs and tell them they’re proud of them and love them,’’ Tuohy said.

“So it’ll come soon enough. And whenever it does come for that player, they’ll have his back.”

Tuohy, the Irish import who retired after 288 games and a Cats premiership, said he hoped a player could understand their sexuality wouldn’t be an issue.

“It is shifting and it is changing,’’ Tuohy said.

“But I wouldn’t know. But I suspect in that industry, for a young man who’s expected to play a really tough physical sport, that might even be harder. If I had to guess.

“I think I can speak pretty accurately from most clubs in the league right now, if not all of them, when I say that externally he might be worried about that. But internally I would like to think that wouldn’t be an issue anymore.”

You'll like this one then!:

What those folks (on Instagram) are calling win rate appears to actually be match ratio, with draws taken into account (counted as 1/2 a win). The difference may only be slight, but they should point that out!

It shouldn't even be a thing. But im guessing the first player might not want all the attention and bravery type hoopla. Im pretty sure no-one these days thinks anything different about gay or non-gay players. In one way America are in the stone ages with guns but their sports organisations wrapping their arms and supporting around this sort of stuff is way ahead of where we are

Yeah, I feel nobody wants to be the first. But once that ice is broken, it'll be easier.

That's what I'm thinking too. They're likely hesitant because the media would expect them to be the spokesperson.

Exactly. This in no way insinuating he is after all the innuendo previously but Darcy would be perfect. He'd be great spokesman for gay causes as a straight guy hes that well spoken and educated. Clearly there would be gay players in the AFL that haven't come out because if this which is sad

It's also not fair having to tell the public about your sexual life.
It's none of anyone's business.
Exactly mate. But at the same time i think they want to not have to hide and tip toe around it so want it in the open. Im speaking out of turn here obviously but I hope someone does it soon, gets the kudos and they and all the other gay men in the AFL dont have to think they need to hide anything. I think its my word salad way of saying im confident the support and admiration would be massive

I think there'd probably be some players who've already come out within their clubs. I'm hoping we're past people giving enough of a shit for it to be announced and made a big deal of.
