I don't know if Geelong's defensive game is putrid or if Carlton is just that good. Also, I am uncertain who I'd punch first, Owies or Chris Scott...
I think we can assume that Carlton are the real deal but geelongs midfield are just not up to it. clarke, bowes, duncan, dangerfield and Atkins is about as poor as you get. I can't wait till we play Carlton
Carlton look the real deal to me - regardless of how bad Geelong are.The Cats are 1 from their last 7. The Blues were on song last night but playing against a Super Rules side.
Walsh and Cripps have terrible disposal. If Daicos gets 50 with the pressure Geelong applied last night it may result in 45 score involvements and 5 goals. May be first time a player gets all 6 Brownlow votesCripps had 40. Nick will have 50 against that awful midfield.
Carlton are still suspect to sustained pressure. Just look at the Sydney game and our game.Sydney still clear favourites but I do think the other gf position is between the blosers and us. Losing that is not an option.Carlton look the real deal to me - regardless of how bad Geelong are.
Hoping and praying they fall in a hole
Dream on. I feel another grinding heart stopper may be heading our way.
Couldn’t believe how many times Cripps threw the ball without penalty.Cripps had 40. Nick will have 50 against that awful midfield.
An outlier.Go and watch our game up there last season. We smashed them. Certainly tougher this year under Hardwick on their deck.
Yep. I can't imagine we'd hear such effusive language from Scott had we done the flogging last night. The almost universal lovefest for Carlton is sickening, not to mention misguided.
The commentators kept crapping on during the telecast about how brilliant Carlton is "amazing players" "Carlton definitely the second seed now" "Curnow is unstoppable" blah blah
And Scott in his post-match took the line (paraphrasing) "I don't normally comment on the opposition, but goodness me, Carlton was wonderful tonight. We tried our best to get back into the game but they were too good. I thought we (GEE) played quite well, but Carlton was just too good".
When the media guys reminded him that GEE put in a shocker recently against Freo(?) so was there a trend, he doubled down on his line about Carlton being just too good. GEE has lost 6 of their last 7 for goodness' sake, after starting the season 7 - 0
Sickening.
Can't imagine us ever seeing this universal acknowledgement if we had beaten the insipid Cats in the same way.
PS: Swans must be getting worried (or will say it's another example of Vic media bias).
is hilarious - they lost by 10 goals.Scott saying Geelong played well......
They definitely score highly on the 'Expected Pressure' index...is hilarious - they lost by 10 goals.
Does Geelong now have their own version of "expected score"?

Geelong look done imo. The top 6 teams imo look like (in 4 tiers) Sydney, then us and Carlton, then GWS, then possibly bulldogs and Brisbane. The way I see it Sydney are a lock for top spot and Carlton for a position within the top 4 so them defeating one of those teams in Geelong who will be fighting us (assuming they can turn their form around) for one of the two remaining top 4 spots wasn't such a bad result in the scheme of things.
Yep there was nothing well about how Cats played last night. They were insipid. I'd be fuming if that was the effort my club put in.Scott saying Geelong played well is just spin. Behind closed doors he will realise what a terrible hole they have fallen into.
We already knew Carlton was a good team but they aren’t suddenly any better after last night’
Id be fuming i got traded there if i was Ollie HenryYep there was nothing well about how Cats played last night. They were insipid. I'd be fuming if that was the effort my club put in.
Serves himself right, hey?Id be fuming i got traded there if i was Ollie Henry
