2021 didn't have a pre-finals bye.Interesting that apart from Richmond, no team that lost the QF went on to win the flag, and in that year both participants made the Gf through that path. And 2020 was an outlier anyway due to the massive fixture upheavals from Covid, as was 2021 to a lesser extent.
Ha! I checked 2020 but not 2021.2021 didn't have a pre-finals bye.
Yeah great point. Undies and trousers are easier to hide than a whole ensemble sheets, quilt, pillows etc. Would take me 3 days to put a new quilt cover onMust confess if I’m gonna do it I’d prefer it not to be in bed.
Are Carlton in minus yet?For our purposes we simply substract wooden spoons
Good observation, was it Port that beat them by that much?Looks like the rule of thumb “You don’t win the flag if you’ve lost a game by 100 points in the season” still holds true
If you lose by 100 points it basically means you give up in games
Which aligns with Sydney given they keep getting pumped in Grand Finals
Good observation, was it Port that beat them by that much?
We got rolled by 96 to Geelong in 2011. After being 20-1 to that point. **** that yearYep
I stand to be corrected but I don’t believe a team has been beaten by 100 points plus in a season and won the flag.
At least not in the modern era anyway
F..# the succession plan which didn't succeedWe got rolled by 96 to Geelong in 2011. After being 20-1 to that point. **** that year
Against hawthorn. After losing to Essendon the week before in an epic games at arctic park. And by 83 pts in round 20 1990.
It had already succeeded the year priorF..# the succession plan which didn't succeed
At that stage the "successor" had not succeeded and when the "successor" eventually succeeded we didn't enjoy the ultimate success again until he had also been succeeded ie our succession plan didn't go according to planIt had already succeeded the year prior
Cool, can we have Papley pleaseSo Paul Roos mentioned getting rid of players who are under performers on the big stage. Who is Roos referring to?
Papley? 1 goal but 20 disposals (2022), 1 goal 10 disposals (2024):and a complete f wit.
Nick Blakey 15 disposal ((2022), 17 disposals but had goals kicked on him.
Hayward 1 goal (2022), 1 goal (2024)
McInerney 7 disposals (2022), 10 disposals (2024)
In terms of the big boys Gulden?
I am not sure who Blakey played on in 2022 in terms of goals kicked on him.
At that stage the successor was only the successor in waiting, so the successor couldn’t possibly achieve the ultimate as he wasn’t yet the successor and didn’t become so until the year later. The succession plan however had already been in place a year earlier where the ultimate success was achieved, with the successee still coach but the succession plan in place. At that stage the "successor" had not succeeded and when the "successor" eventually succeeded we didn't enjoy the ultimate success again until he had also been succeeded ie our succession plan didn't go according to plan
Quite a successful postAt that stage the successor was only the successor in waiting, so the successor couldn’t possibly achieve the ultimate as he wasn’t yet the successor and didn’t become so until the year later. The succession plan however had already been in place a year earlier where the ultimate success was achieved, with the successee still coach but the succession plan in place.
Hence it’s impossible to say the succession plan cost the flag in 2011 because it had already been a successful succession plan in 2010.
I’d say yes for the melts alone, but I actually don’t mind him.Cool, can we have Papley please
