Our Crowd: Are we mutes?

Hey guys, how are we all after that devastating loss yesterday? Everyone keeps telling me we have next year.. but we all know how hard it is to get into finals and you have to take your opportunities when they are there. Its okay though, time is on our side.

But back to the point of this thread. I can't get over how timid our crowd is. I felt like we had no presence at all. Adelaide were so loud.. You could hear them boo when we were shooting for goal, they would cheer so loud when something good happened..

Whenever we did something good.. or started to get on a run we would just shit ourselves as a crowd and not make any noise.. have we been hurt too many times before? I'd love to know why our crowd is the way it is.. it just really dissapointed me and maybe us not having that 19th man can be the difference in these close finals..?

What do you guys think? I felt like we had much more of a presence at home games this year.

I just want something to be done about it!

I was talking to my Dad about it - we seemed ok early when things were going well but as soon as the Crows hit back we become mutes.

I think it's maybe that we have become so used to screwing up finals we just sit there with a "here we go again" attitude. We sit there in fear and resignation

It's honestly farked. Our supporter base need to see a psychologist.

Sometimes I wake up screaming with visions of Dogs player missing easy shots in finals.
I really want to get to the bottom of this. Is there a way I can get in contact with the club? I want to make shit happen.

I truly appreciate it, but I'm to far gone. As I type this I can see Mark West running in from 40 in the 97 prelim and his kick slowly, slowly drifting to the left

We've always been like that. But yes I agree and I had to leave my seat and go stand because I was right next to those bogun flogs and couldn't stand their noise. Why can't we have a total separation of Club supporters?

Can we stop referring to 97 all the time. That was 18 years ago now, different team now who were not even born back then. It gave me the errets the way it kept getting raised yesterday. It is constantly reinforcing a loss and the Crows fans lap it up. Enough!!!!

I was in q12 and it was the loudest Ive heard us. But throughout the whole game, and even when we hit the lead late, I was always resigned to the fact we would lose. We've just been conditioned that way and sure enough we lost

I believe the same theory applies to prelim finals somewhat

It becomes a burden that is hard to shake off

I always sit in the cheer squad and it was a piss poor excuse from half of the people there
Really the first 5 rows were going all game long and the back 2 rows complaining about banners or flags going up

All a bunch of old people
If you are in cheer squad you cheer not sit down and bitch about those doing their jobs

We didn't lose because we are the Bulldogs ffs. We lost because we have the third youngest team playing its first final, being so young we lack the experience, composure, and stamina to see that game out.

The Crows are more experienced and should have won by a lot more. The fact we even made the finals a full year ahead of our development is pure gold for the experience this will give these incredible kids. They will hurt, they will be angry and this will steel their determination.

Our future is so so bright.

Adelaide with Sloan and Dangerfield not to mention Tex are under achievers and will be bundled out next week.

My son made a gigantic flag and wanted to wave it at Fed Square and the oldies told him off, he had a go back at them saying you had better be loud today though lol.

Loud first half of the first quarter. Quiet second and third. Very loud last quarter. Crowd was deafening when stringer kicked that goal in the last. Also chanted Bonty when he was having those shots. Bit harsh I think. Would have been nice for abit more noise when they were having shots etc

I honestly felt we would win all game. Particularly after we hit the front. We owned all the key stats and had it in our forward 50 so much. Just those damn constant misses in the 3rd cost us so much in the end.

But to the OP. I think we need to find a couple of chants to get behind. Whilst I have no interest in Port Puffers plastic creation of we are not alone, in the same way we have an official cartoonist (best in class) and an official banner writer (funny as hell), it absolutely wouldn't hurt to get someone to write and provide the cheer squad with one or two rev up cheers that could get the rest of the crowd going along behind them. The "Bonti" cry was good until he missed both shots but that's just unlucky. We need to keep that going and get another one for a mid and something for "The Package" ......that is better than "The Package".....

I miss Coons for that reason alone.

Makes me wonder are they like Richmond in ways?

So many players in the right age bracket but haven't really truly challenged yet.

Disagree though they should've won by more, our turnovers and decision making and skills killed us and they killed us on the counter, that was the difference in the game, plus their 2 main guys up forward kicked half of their score.
