Our list is beyond repair. We barely have half a dozen AFL standard footballers.

Jones - Completely struggles to impact games, unsure if can defend, a bit soft
Keays - Lacks composure and decision making, erratic kick
Berry - Slow, fumbly, average kick
Murphy - Completely brainless and chaotic, too small, no real forward craft, average kick
Crouch - Super slow, game has gone past his style of player, goes lateral or backwards too much, lacks kicking penetration, average kick
Thilthorpe - Struggles to impact games, doesn't use his big size, a bit soft
Rachele - Stuggles to impact games, a bit soft, IMO won't be a midfielder with slowish decision making and hand to foot
Pedlar - Struggles to impact games, a bit rushed, sprays with his kicking
Dawson - IMO not a coalface midfielder more cherry on top, questionable in the wet, can spray with his kicking
Walker - Unfortunately past his best

Continued.

There are holes in our list, to be certain. But including the likes of Dawson, Soligo, Michalanney, etc is just silly.

The problem we have is that with the exception of Dawson, all of our good players are still young and inexperienced. Even Rankine is early in his career. We have a dearth of quality senior players, so it's all young players trying to make things work. Young players by their nature are inconsistent, and when we rely on so many of them, at least some of them are going to be off in any given game.

Our list is absolutely not beyond repair - but it's not complete yet. The rebuild is far from over. We need to continue developing what we've got, while adding in quality all over the ground via drafts and trades. If we nail those over the few few years we'll be fine... but that's a big if.

Dawson is one of the better kicks in the AFL. 'Can spray with his kicking' is a good example of a statement that is correct when taken literally but provides no useful information. You could also say that Tony Lockett 'sometimes kicked inaccurately' or that Darren Jarman 'didn't always impact big games'.
