I was running the water one weekend, I responded to some lip being thrown, not one of those cowards would look me in the eye. I’ll let you in on a little secret, Milawa were the softest side I’d encountered in my 40 plus years in the game, and I’d come across some marshmallows in my time.

Calm before the storm, this pricks fond memory’s of nights alone down at Daniel lane, pondering the next move, i still grip on to hope that there is an unwritten chapter to play out. The league in its current form is on borrowed time, the entire structure including that of the surviving teams will be completely turned on itself. I believe the towns name and this reserve will be reinvigorated in a footballing format, at some point in time. The town don’t seem to give a damn, absolute travesty.

I know of a handful of good Glenrowan locals that won't step back into there because of the Trump of Glenrowan and his chemically unbalanced minions ! All have good football backgrounds.

I can confidently narrow down the select few, those people never supported the place anyway. They were nowhere to be seen during the dark times and didn’t care to partake in the success, riddance to them. Ralphy would be back in a heartbeat, and any players saying they wouldn’t return are giving you what you want to hear.

If the powers to be made one squad of the best 21 current players in the league, I believe Glenrowan’s dream teams would beat it, that’s what kind of drop off we've had in the past 6 years. It drives me crazy as a resolve is staring straight at the dimwits running this show.

History says it’s very hard to go back to back, hearing the sides already fell apart, but a diet that consists of peptides and nose fuel will do that.

No denying the standard may have dropped, however hard to argue against benalla, both grade premiers and took all major awards.
How would you match up both sides?
There are arguments for domination for both sides I feel.

As for comparison to O & M teams , neither within 10 gls of this years Corowa team . Maybe I could bore all on how good I was , but even my g’kids recognise bull s**t .

I don't recall calling any current club a joke, or stating that an ovens and king club could compete with O&M, that would be absolutely silly. Massive standard and commitment jump.

But I think your on the right track with the prediction. Would be a cracker game of footy.

Are you the vision impaired umpire that that sniffs around for free sandwiches ? I’m not sure your eyesight deems you competent to compare teams from different eras. As for players drinking alcohol during games, nothing makes more of a mockery of the league than that, I don’t like it.

Yes, advocating for some decent ones, like the league the umpires have also plummeted south, maybe he could run the boundary with his seeing eye dog? Still gets to be involved in the game without ruining it.

I believe the hub had said they are 60 umpires short a week,

These teams eye off the calendar knowing it’s their only chance of a win, which ultimately leads to nothing. Maybe we could give out participation awards for the special sides? It used to be such a strong thriving competition. My heart aches watching a once skilled and fiercely tough brand die a slow painful death. I often ponder, what can I do? How can I help? Ten bucks at the gate and a cold one is a small start, but I like to think big. The strength can only come in numbers, where are the numbers? Volunteers, spectators, players, umpires, kids coming through. It’s a counting game, but the digits aren’t adding up, it’s a damn shame.

If Prime Train did that in town I’d have him arse holed quicker than he could take his next self portrait, I’ve been clear on this, professionalism and success go hand in hand.

Personally I think the clubs that spent the big money and recruited extra heavily have been a factor in the mid tier clubs being in this situation.
The mid tier clubs either chose to try and keep up and spent more than was sustainable which resulted in them falling off the pace or they decided they couldn’t compete in an arms race and fell behind even further because players started choosing clubs who paid the most rather than clubs with a great culture.
