Some valid points here although I question weather age matters in the slow & k league. Guys should be picked on form; if a 20 year old spud who still gets his mum to shampoo his hair is training hard and playing sh*t why would you reward him? Dankys still a class above.

agree here, no point recruiting a younger fitter player from the ovens and murray thirds or reserves to go play in the ovens and king expecting them to be able to win their own ball in the o&K, lower skill level and lower quality grounds make a very slow and congested game

I know that Moyhu and King Valley played a scratch match last night. I think it may have been something like 5 x 15 minute quarters.
Moyhu had a lot of young guys playing and actually looked ok but was more taken aback with how King Valley looked. Not sure if they had many players out, but they struggled and didn’t look too good.
Might be a long season for them.

Watched blacks play chiltern tonight. Blacks were smashed seemed like boys playing against men. I would say they are going to struggle under their young coach.

I wouldn’t buy in to it too much, Chiltern will finish top two in a much stronger league. Any news out at Milawa? Hearing they’re struggling to keep guys happy with the salary cut, not surprising.

If they’re not ‘happy’ with the salary cut, they won’t get any relief at other clubs, or other leagues for that matter.
Sad how football has changed and it’s all about how much money you can get from playing instead of the enjoyment of playing with mates..

Interesting that we keep hearing about players not happy about not getting paid. I am yet to see a mass exodus from these clubs that players are so called unhappy about.......

Its because other clubs are fed up with spuds shopping themselves around, also points system comes in to play too.

Bats apparently only getting the same 12 to 15 blokes to training. Those 20 year olds that went there last season and still there for this season

if that is the case a good common sense rule . Glandular fever , flu , common cold etc . pretty Easy to do. Bring your own drink bottle and don’t expect a volunteer ( in short supply) to provide one.
