Killing it. Kicking goals and hitting blokes on the chest in his Rd1 match. 40 point win.
Had your old mob today, country footy in a real bad place, word is they may merge with Cobden in the not too distant future (hell having frozen over first). Had to forfeit the 18’s and South gave them four for the 2’s in order to get a game going.

That’s crook. Camperdown v Cobden was a massive grudge match in the day. That said, Camperdown did hate everyone. They should make for strange bedfellows.

It would appear that they don’t have much of a choice, numbers are poor, the coeffect of Covid-19 and rising petrol prices mean that players are now unwilling to travel too far

Welcome back 3KZ. As you well know I always win fashions on the field and down at the Cattery several old Fitzroy supporters came an sat around us. They said they all were drawn by my beanie, scarf and jumper.

This site needs some 3KZ

Sad not just a country issue also WR. Metropolitan clubs facing similar issues.

Heading down to the Bool in May, looking forward to catching up with old many faces years since I last got there. No doubt it will be a shock to me last time I was there the Kols still had the Grand.

Oh shit…prepare yourself it’s a very different place now

That brings back memories. Sat with my old man at the Jolimont end that day. Was my first time seeing that jumper, I'd only ever seen the Roys wear the Royal Blue, Red and yellow FFC. The bloke in front of us started tearing-up after we had won. My dad recognized him as an old royboy from the late 60's. Some great emotion that day.

Yep - after the game they had a club do at the Hilton, which was packed out and rocking. Laurie Serafini led the crowd in the singing of the old Fitzroy club song. There were plenty of blokes like me tearing up. A great day.

I currently in Geelong visiting my parents and as we went past Kardinia Park the other day I told them that there was robbery there last Friday night. Really? was the reply... Yes I said, but Hawkins got away with it. They then said what about earlier in the game etc! LoL.

I was living in Singapore at the time and there was no access to AFL that year. We went on a ferry to Batam, Indonesia, and got a pub to open up early. Best thing was I with one of best mates who is a Collingwood supporter. His beer didn't taste too good after the first 5 minutes of the game. I had a great day!

I bought one of those beautiful jumpers (not player worn), which was numbered. I have about 10 Lions jumpers and this one and the 2001 version are my favourites.

Thought I’d post this in here because the Over 50’s Clique will remember the days when defenders closely marked their opponents, something we are not doing at present. Too often, our defence seems to be playing off their opponents, guarding space and not their man. It was a glaring issue with Harris Andrew’s during finals and it was an issue last night. Gardiner in particular broke basic defensive rules last night by giving his opponent too much space and not being goal side of him. Here is the most egregious example. Mark and goal Collingwood. This is an area to tighten up. The Over 50’s Clique endorses defenders standing on their opponent’s toes.

I am sure that they are encouraged to play a bit of but that is too far. Also, not everyone in defence can do it.

There was also a goal to the Pies where Adam was around 5 m off his man, not concentrating and moving laterally. They just led up the field for an easy mark and goal.
