Glad to see Josh Yong get a medal, just seems like such a nice, humble guy.

You'd think Sjoestroem and Wiffen will win Gold in the 50 and 1500, although you never know. But that just leaves the Men's and Women's medley relays to decide it.US just 1 swimming gold behind Australia. So you'd expect them to overtake us in the end.
Don't think they underperformed with an average teamStill under performed. They usually get double figure golds.
Ledecky will be 31 next games. She may be there but she wont be the swimmer she is now.Might depend on where Titmus’ head is at but wonder if she’s thinking that will be her last 800m. Know at this stage she’s planning on taking 12 months off post-games (Thorpe of course had a similar plans & ended up coming back for 2006 comm games trials & realised it wasn’t for him as he preferred life out of the pool way more). Thorpe also famously declared post Athens 400m free he was never swimming that event ever again, know Titmus has claimed in the past she didn’t give it up because it helps her 400m but what is going to be the motivation for still swimming it? To eventually get past a finally tiring Ladecky? because Ladecky likely is going to give up the 400m & just put all her focus on swimming the 800m & 1500m in LA. Giving the 800m up might end up being the way to try to not overload her mind and/or body & get her to LA, ends this meet 1 short of Ian Thorpe’s medal tally with 1 less gold.
Kaylee also gonna face the same issue with motivation and also her program as the 200IM ultimately proved to be a bridge too far for her body to be at its optimum for when she was at her absolute prime at these games, not to mention most likely she has to find a replacement for possibly Australia best ever coach in Michael Bohl.
Not going to be easy for Swimming Australia to come up with the ideal ways to try and get more out of McKeown & Titmus as they’ll need to get a 3rd Olympic games out of these multi-generational talents as there’s not exactly two 16 year old super junior talents waiting in the wings like these two were post Rio 2016.
Well that’s what I was saying does the possibility that somehow finally Ledecky being more than vulnerable at that distance in 2028 become motivation enough for Titmus to continue to put the extra strain on her body with the extra mileage she needs to train for the 800m? It not being her best event nor it seemingly being as important to her as her other events cutting it would definitely be the option to take if she wants to lighten her workload as she enters that next phase of her swimming life, also if youngsters like the bronze medallist Paige Madden in that time also start taking a fair chunk off Titmus’ best time at that distance and it no longer becomes a guaranteed medal that might also start to come into her thinking given the stage of her career she is now at.Ledecky will be 31 next games. I would of thought ledecky gave up the 200 for 1500 not the 800. If there was no 1500 she probably would still race the 200.Well that’s what I was saying does the possibility that somehow finally Ledecky being more than vulnerable at that distance in 2028 become motivation enough for Titmus to continue to put the extra strain on her body with the extra mileage she needs to train for the 800m? Titmus is at a point in time of her career where she can pick and choose what she wants out of the end of her career and needs to be smart how she manages herself, swimmers may be swimming longer until 30 but those that have had success like Sjöström, McKeon and Ledecky have done so by specialising and dropping events. Also other factors to take into account, like what does keeping training for the 800m mean for her 200m going forward? As we see with Ledecky she trained more for those distance events and as she got into her mid-to-late 20s it meant even with someone like her something had to give & that ultimately proved to be some of her sprinting/200m speed, if Ariarne continues the 800m post-break but her 200m times start to suffer that might make the choice for her as she definitely won’t want to weaken that 4x200m relay squad or put her individual spot in danger either.
Think it’s really, really unlikely she’ll ever consider going down the other route like Ledecky did and gives up the 200m individually to help her in the 800m.
Let them have a year or two off, and then get them to work with the professor. He might be still going, trying to go back to back, but without saying the exact words, he wants to coach swimmers to a new and better method of training.Might depend on where Titmus’ head is at but wonder if she’s thinking that will be her last 800m. Yep, and pretty sure he mentioned about going international with his methods. He’s going to do well for himself after his own career is finished. If I were Swimming Australia I’d be getting in his ear, making sure he sticks around to coach our next generation. I think he’ll take his knowledge far and wide though.Let them have a year or two off, and then get them to work with the professor. Italy didn't make final. China are favourites in men's medley relay and Wiffen should win 1500m however USA will win medley relay. The yanks will top the swimming medals tally.
No American man has won an individual event here so I wouldnt be surprised if Finke wins the 1500m.
If he doesnt the yanks should win both nedley relays and tie Oz with 7 golds.
If we had a faster breaststroker in the women's Oz could win it. Kaylee is tired so she probably wont produce a near world record swim needed to cover the weakness in the breastroke leg and Emma would have to beat her US competitors time and Mollie would need to do a PB leg.
The yanks ate vulnerable in men's medley as Dressel is swimming below par in the butterfly. ZSC would have to swim a great leg and Copper swim a PB in the backstroke to give King Kyle a chance to mow them down.
The Italians are the ones who could knock off the yanks.
How cold is cold for a QueenslanderNo its winter. Im in brisbane and literally right now sitting in front of a roaring fire its so cold. Imagine all the swimmers shivering on the blocks. It would be an absolute disaster.
Im a melbournian and spent 8 years living in canberra. How cold is cold for a Queenslander
What/where is LSE?Ok my mistake though you were a banana bender. I'm from LSE SA had a few chip the ice off the car window mornings lately.
Part of South Australia located on the other side of the Adelaide hills. Yes it may be hard for you city slickers to believe there is part of the state beyond those hillsWhat/where is LSE?
What happened? did they DQ? Went to the footy so didn't see any of morning session swimming for Day 8, I just assumed they made it.Italy didn't make final. China are favourites in men's medley relay and Wiffen should win 1500m however USA will win medley relay.
Or you could have said Naracoorte and Mt Gambier areaPart of South Australia located on the other side of the Adelaide hills. Yes it may be hard for you city slickers to believe there is part of the state beyond those hills
It will be Yong in the 100m Breaststroke, surprise to me as well but he swam almost a second faster than ZSC heat time in the mixed relay. The yanks will top the swimming medals tally.

True but where would be the fun in that? most country SA people know a fair percentage of Adelaide people think the state ends at the hills. At least those who run the stateOr you could have said Naracoorte and Mt Gambier area
To be fair, look at the guy you keep electing to help run the state for you...True but where would be the fun in that? most country SA people know a fair percentage of Adelaide people think the state ends at the hills. At least those who run the state
The problem started well before him.To be fair, look at the guy you keep electing to help run the state for you...
