There was a terrific ABC news article today about Maureen Caird & Pam Kilborn. Our hurdlers that went 1-2 in Mexico - our best athletics event ever.

Nor Sir John Walker who won the 1500m gold medal in the 1976 Montreal Olympics, disappointing from Gerard Whateley.

If I've read this right that if neither of them clear 2.38m or 2.40m in the jump-off then Kerr would win on countback given he cleared 2.34m on the first go compared to McEwen on the third

They are Aussies. And the only Aussies who have done better than Jess in the 1500m.

The USA winning but Botswana gave them a run for their money, Great Britain with the bronze, Belgium a brave fourth.

France bungled it to finish last which took the air out of the French crowd but they probably weren't in the mix anyway

Glad the kiwi won, almost certain it was the American that wanted to keep jumping so got what he ****ing deserved.
