There was a terrific ABC news article today about Maureen Caird & Pam Kilborn. Our hurdlers that went 1-2 in Mexico - our best athletics event ever.

If you are at all interested in athletics - it's a great read.

Geez Kiwi Hamish Kerr almost cleared 2.38 with 2nd jump.

A tie at the moment with the yank.

They wont do what happened in Tokyp and share the gold. They will do a jump off.

No mention of Sir Peter Snell who won the 800m and 1500m gold medals for NZ in the Tokyo Olympics back in 1984

Nor Sir John Walker who won the 1500m gold medal in the 1976 Montreal Olympics, disappointing from Gerard Whateley.
WTF do Kiwi men have to do with the best ever women's 1500m race at the Olympics?

Gerard mentioned Edwin Flack and Herb Elliott, what did they have to do with the best ever women's 1500m Olympics race?

Typical Aussie bias.

If it were the first time I'd think they would. But the same two shared it in Tokyo. It's time for individual glory
No they didn’t this is a different pair.

No it was Qatari Barsham and Italian Tamberi who both were jumping in the final tonight but both had injury issues.

Ummm - perhaps you're a bit tired. Or perhaps a Kiwi.. So I'll explain this slowly and with small words.

They are Aussies. And the only Aussies who have done better than Jess in the 1500m.

You would think an interviewer might be able to muster one tactics-related question for a 1500m silver medallist.

Nahhh, better to bring up Mick Jagger and Jimmy Fallon instead.

The USA winning but Botswana gave them a run for their money, Great Britain with the bronze, Belgium a brave fourth.

France bungled it to finish last which took the air out of the French crowd but they probably weren't in the mix anyway
