Azza ran the final leg.

Browning didn't deserve a place as he hasn't trained with the squad this year.
Well someone got it wrong then, as said these were 2 changes.

They must have meant Sebastian Sultana and Browning.

Unbelievably unlucky.
We have had some bad luck in Olympic relays back to our first M4x1 in London 1948 but this might be the most unfortunate :(

In 1968 our team (sprinters Peter Norman & Greg Lewis (Tamsyn's Dad) combined with a Long Jumper Allan Crawley (Dave Culbert's school-teacher) & Triple Jumper Phil May in pre-games competition.

They broke the Commonwealth Record and then discovered Australian officials hadn't even entered a relay team for the Olympics.

Peter once told me they even ran faster than that in a practice race (unofficial) against the British team.

Something I have never seen before at an Olympics or World Champs, just after half way mark - 25 of 48 events have been completed, Oz has the 2nd most number of medals won, only behind dominate USA.

Not sure if the schedule has affected things, but to have more medals than Jamaica, Kenya, and Ethiopia and even Great Britain is unheard of. It wont end that way but still a pleasant thing to see. Good chance Oz could win 2 more medals - Jess Hull and McKenzie Little.

Same thing with the Placing Table. Never seen Oz 5th at this stage of an Olympics or world champs. 7 top 8 placings and maybe 3 more to come Hull, Little, Kathryn Mitchell also in the Javelin with Little.

Jess's 3.55.40 SF effort is the second fastest 1500m she has run.

She finally got down to a 3.55, and set her Oz record in Eugene in May with a 3.55.97 after being a PB 3.58 high 3.57s type runner for a couple of years. She then runs 3.50.83 in the Diamond League meet in Paris on 7th July and pushed Kipyegon to a WR.

To run so relaxed and run her 2nd best time, shows she is the real deal. She might not beat Kipyegon, but nobody else might beat Jess.
