The guy should never have made it past the 1st lodgement of interest. He was not qualified to coach any AFL club let alone 1 with a succesful history. His only achievement was getting bendigo into the fianls then watching meekly as they imploded a huge lead. He had NOT done an AFL apprenticeship & so brought absolutely NOTHING to suggest he was ever going to be anything but fail. He then surrounded himself with more duds. Prescott (as if 1 Richmond failure wasn't enough), Campo (rival to Knights for tag sas softest players of the 90's) plus the piece de resistance Hickmott - the guy coaches Bendigo to a winless season so we reward him with a job as development coach. If it wasn't my club I would laugh myself silly at the level of pathetic we have become.

Spot on. My Hawthorn mates have been laughing at me since Knights' appointment. Hindsight is a beautiful thing but boy it looks like we stuffed this one up. A winning % of 38 is ordinary.

When you want change in the political landscape you protest. You put up signs and go on marches and make the world take notice.

You jump on ships, do dangerours things and risk your life if you believe hard enough.

This is my protest against Knights and the Essendon FC. I want change.

It's also a case of the tail wagging the dog.

I can assure you I want Knights gone but I still went yesterday - even though I wish I hadn't.

What will make me spew up is anymore cliches about our form from our senior players, it's more pathetic than the way they're playing! :thumbsdown:

PPL would know I am not M Knights biggest fan but a boycott only hurts our club further.

I will be there to support MY club on Saturday and just hope that eventually with enough of the RIGHT actions and noises the board will make some clever decisions and get rid of knights.

Send letters, organise a petition and voice concerns but don't boycott.

Knights has turned us into Richmond (whilst Hardwick is doing a good job of turning Richmond into Essendon). I can't believe how down on confidence some players look, he is simply not getting the best out of this group and his game style clearly confuses them. So either his game style doesn't work, or he can't communicate it effectively, or the game style doesn't suit the players at his disposal or those that are selected. Either way he needs to be moved on at the end of the year. How long can this club accept mediocrity!!!!

Hey I share your pain.. I've been trying to get this moron sacked since his appointment.. I have been personally attacked on these boards for my views on M Knights BUT a boycott is not the solution.

It is for me and a number of Essendon friends.

Heck, every Essedon fan I've talked to(apart from the people on this board) says they have given up the season and can't be bothered going to any more games.

Lets start the revolution. Don't turn up on Saturday. Viva la revolution. :thumbsu:

Just because you expected us to be top four at the start of the year doesn't mean we should voice our disapproval by effectively not saying anything

Failing at & getting kicked out of a SANFL club is not an AFL apprenticeship. We needed a guy who at the very least had been an assistant to a successful coach. Knights wasn't even 1 of Sheedy's assistants so how the hell was he even considered to replace him. Lets face facts - we hired the work experiece kid because he happened to know some tricks on powerpoint & dazzled the board with corporate BS. He also would have been the cheapest option so never underestimate the boards ability to put profit before whats best for the football department. I guess we can at least look back at the last 7 odd years & say at least we didn't spend much money to be that crap:eek:

Jackson was the focus of some skepticism when he stated after signing Knights that Essendon should play finals in 2009 and push for the top four in 2010.

"I will get kicked up the bum, I suppose," Jackson said in October 2007, "and Matthew is going to be the first one to kick me for putting a timeline on these things, but three years from now, which is 2010, I think you'd expect Essendon to be pushing up to a top-four spot if these kids are as a good as we think they are."

I never said it was a successful apprenticeship, just that he had one, that was the only point I could pick you up on, everything you have written here I agree with, even how well his apprenticeship went.

1 thing is that he was handed a dud list, Sheedy had run the list into the ground with bad recruiting for years, our list looks better now than 3 years ago its just they arent improving (and you can blame knights for that).

When people come out and say improvement in Zaharakis, Hurley, Gumby, Dempsey you need to remember they are all 1st round picks and should improve from 17/18 to 20/21 when they get bigger and stronger. Other than a select few they have gone backwards - Stanton has gone from a real good footballer to the clanger king that people talk about as trade bait, dyson backwards, houli backwards, jetta about the same, reimers backwards, neagle backwards, atkinson backwards, welsh backwards, mcveigh backwards and so on
