Re: So was it a big enough loss For Knights to get the sack?

He will stay for the simple reason that there are no other better choices out there for us to consider.

Choco..no.

Knights better than Choco

But yes next season is do or die for Knights.

"Injury ravaged doggies" So where would that leave Essendon in the injury stakes? some of you blokes go on more than the herald sun, talk about hounding the poor bastard. get used to it, he`s not going to get the sack get ****ing over it.

Re: So was it a big enough loss For Knights to get the sack?

I felt really sorry for Knights leaving the game tonight. Whilst waiting for the Essendon coaching staff to come from the box after the match a lot of Essendon faithful started giving it to Knights waving goodbye. Thought it was a bit stupid from some of your supporters. I guess every club has a bunch like that though.

Re: So was it a big enough loss For Knights to get the sack?

I stand by Knights. If he delivers this sort of season next year then I'll be calling for his head like many others but I have faith that he can deliver a better season in 2011.

A dire need for pacey, skillful and aggressive midfielders needs to be addressed. Along with quality small defenders. Let's see what trade week throws up. Hopefully no McPhee debacles as far as re-signings go. If we lose players then I want something in return, even if it's a third round pick in a compromised draft (to re-sign a rookie).

Pass mark for 2011? 11 wins.

Re: So was it a big enough loss For Knights to get the sack?

we lost by 29 points to a team that had nothing to play for and played c grade football that will see them get smashed by 120+ points next week if the pies kick straight.

if we vsed geelong today, we would of got done by over 100+

Re: So was it a big enough loss For Knights to get the sack?

I just don't want us wasting any more time..

we're not even on the right track... not even close... I see no hope for us over the next two years if a major changes doesn't happen..

Sack Knights or keep him.. whatever... I just want us to change what we're doing... it's simply not working.. Knights pretending that everything is fine.. that we "should stay on course" is just insane.. he's not in touch with reality.. he either needs a lot of guidance (via Williams, Hird etc) or the sack....

the definition of stupid is doing the same thing, time and time again and expecting a different result...

We have the same game plan all season round and can't understand why we lose..

Re: So was it a big enough loss For Knights to get the sack?

Sorry to intrude, but I have always followed Essendon closely and have known some people involved with the club.

Essendon have been pretty stiff with injury this year, but have surprised occasionally when things have worked for them. Refer to the wins over the Saints.

Unfortunately, they struggle when things don't work and seem unable to change the flow of things.

If they persist with Knights, I expect more of the same. If they do add Choco and some quality assistants it might improve a bit, but with Knights in charge I doubt it. In all honesty he seems more suited to sitting with the Cheer Squad on match day.

The Club need to look where they are heading and I don't think 2 more years of Knights (or even 1) will help.

My proposal would be appoint Choco for 2 years with Hird as the main assistant to give hime some on the job experience and groom him to take over. That would also give a good reason to hang onto some players that may be under the pump and properly evaluate them in 2011 before decisions are made on trading etc.

Re: So was it a big enough loss For Knights to get the sack?

I really hope he is shown the door.

Time to bite the bullet, give him the chop and bring in Choco with some really good assistants in place. The joint needs a lift and I reckon Choco is just the man.

I feel for our club if he is kept on

Re: So was it a big enough loss For Knights to get the sack?

All I gotta say is we better get more defensive over the pre-season.

Our strength going forward is going to be our Key Position players yet our forward line is always clogged when we should be clearing space for Gumby, Carlisle and Ryder.

Why not play more like the Swans, our midfield is poor, if we had more numbers in the midfield the opposition would have less space and Gumby, Jake and Paddy would have more, then Hurls and Pears would get murdered as much also.

Re: So was it a big enough loss For Knights to get the sack?

I don't think that game will have any bearing. I expect a decision is immenent one way or the other by Thursday.

I do find it interesting that the OP described them as "The injury raveged Doggies" though. We aren't exactly fully fit there either bloke. Like last week, we actually fielded one of the youngest and most inexperienced teams to ever take to an AFL/VFL field. It could have been alot uglier.
