Patrick Dangerfield?

Just out of interest, what would be a fair swap for you in terms of players? If we got pick 4 from Brisbane Im pretty sure we'd be keen to on-trade it if Danger was available, so if it was pick 4 and player X, which one of our players would you want?
Pick 4 + Aish and 1 hand is on the prize I reckon.

Ben Kennedy would have been perfect but he's settled I think. So it may end up being an extra pick 20 odd.

Otherwise a KPD would fit. Brown maybe - Reid probably unbalances it

One thing that encourages me that we are well in the hunt for him is that, before the Beams announcement the club came out and said that they were having a quiet trade week and were not going after any FA or big names. But next year we would be making a play in FA. This could well mean we had had 'discussions' with a player coming out of FA next year. Beams retiring suddenly brought our plans forwards and why risk said player going else where, if we can get them this year. Re: Dangerfield

Is Danger worth that much more then Beams I wouldn't of thought so. In saying this we are trying to extract a player, where as Beams wants out so maybe that changes the ledger. Still Think 4 + Aish or like would do it.

Next year Danger is an RFA so the risk is there if crows get to greedy it breaks down only for it to happen for a lot less the following off season.

Dangerfield is a serious player, like Pendles or Abblett he is capable of carrying a team over the line. He was pretty influential in the game over us.

Beams is a gun and solid midfielder, but players of Patty's calibre are few and far between. Its hard to tell if he'd be an upgrade or a like for like, either way he'd improve the team a couple of notches so I'd say he is worth the money that Cloke commands even though he is not a KPP.

Wait relax guys Dangerfield has to come out and say I want to go to Collingwood first then we push hard but all indications are that he will stay and walk at years end.Still push hard with Brisbane pick 4 plus Aish or no deal.
We get pick 4 and Aish we wont have to put much much at years end to throw in to get Dangerfield if he goes elsewhere who cares we will have maybe brayshaw at pick 4 and Aish who will be a gun player and loves bucks we win anyway

Most definitely would improve us as I have stated earlier and I also hope the club does everything within reason to secure him this year, but there does come a line where you have to question is this too much?

(Beams) 4 + Aish or like plus 20 or a Ben Kennedy imo is starting to blur the lines.

Danger can't kick to himself.

Danger isn't worth whats pretty much Beams and Kennedy, not to mention when he's an RFA next year.

Buy all accounts I am hearing is Brayshaw is a wrecking ball gutsy midfielder solid body and Aish is all class.Throw these two into our midfield with sidey,Pendles,Swan, Kennedy,Broomhead and freeman who if he gets over his hammys can become like Dangerfield. We still have to waiot another year but when sharenberg steps into that midfield look out.

Bucks is on the right track but we have to be patient, short term pain for longer term gain.
Next year we will get a few free agents to top up and we are away, amybe 1 more year of pain maybe not at least if we can make the 8 next year we will go back on top in no time.Chin up lads

As A RFA Crows could match any deal. They'd have plenty of cap space.

Adelaide, Danger and Collingwood may have come to an agreement already based on the proviso that we can get pick 4 and Aish from Brisbane. We may hear nothing publically from Adelaide or Dangerfield until later in the trade period if it looks like we will be able to satisfy the deal through getting the goods from Brisbane.

Or it could be total nonsense... but I reckon we would have heard something from the Dangerfield camp by now if there was no chance this will happen.

Dangerfield for Beams would be a fair swap in normal circumstances but Beams wants out and Dangerfield would have to be pulled out AND to us so a "fair swap" isn't going to cut it - justy like we wont get a fair swap from Brisbane for Beams.

Exactly if he was 100% not leaving there would be a statement from him and manager saying he is happy at crows and won't be going anywhere blah blah blah.
I think he has a serious offer in front of him and is very much considering his options.

Dangerfield appears to be the type of guy that won't give away much for no reason however. so unless the deal is " pretty much done " why mention anything that will rock the boat.

There certainly is a few quality young SA boys shared between Collingwood & Brisbane. I think all clubs would be very conscious now of the go home factor - especially Brisbane. This whole trade discussion all revolves around players returning to home states. In a way it does grease the wheels for a deal to happen where all parties can be reasonably happy.

The Lions would really need to get a good feel for how Aish & Mayes are feeling about living in Brisbane and if there is uncertainty it would be a good time to benefit from that and send them home rather than waiting for what happened with Polec & the rest. If they do trade into Beams it would get an A grade mid who isn't going home into a midfield group that is looking really solid. Guys like Mayes, Aish, Taylor & others will find it hard to break into the midfield for a long while when they have Rockliff, Redden, Hanley, Rich & Beams as a core. Lack of opportunity & the home town draw in 2 years time may see some of these guys walk.

I really wanted Aish last year and would love to see him in the black & white. I would really have to think hard about moving him on if that is what we secured, but given our need for some experience we would have to entertain Dangefield if indeed he is in play.

This is like Beams I think. The longer it goes with out Dangerfield and his management coming out and saying this rumors is false the more likely Dangerfield looks likely to leave.

We had it with Beams as well, it went through a few weeks with the rumor going around about him leaving, his management nor Beams himself made a comment and I think it was fairly clear he was looking to leave, so there wasn't much shock from that.

If the rumors are false then they are usually shut down by simply coming out and say he is staying and going no where. All we have got from Adelaide is they would be shocked if he asked for a trade. Usually clubs come out and say no, untouchable he is happy here and is going no where. I am not saying he will be at Collingwood next year, could be at any other club but the rumor is that Collingwood have tabled a 5 year deal to him. Until his manager comes out and says he is staying, I think he is very gettable and we must to everything to bring him down.

Keep in mind the Beams rumours started the year prior took him 12 months to bring it to a head.

Might end up similar for Dangerfield.

Dangerfield is even mentioned on the official Collingwood website, its obvious an offer has been made otherwise it would just be unfounded rumour to which the club wouldn't even acknowledge on a casual basis. Hope Danger makes the right call.

I think this is a different case because he is a free agent next year, Adelaide can't afford to wait till next year and must find out his intentions now.

Yeah it is 100% in the works, it all just comes back to Patrick in the end.

Play at the best club in the land and be a millionaire or stick at the crows.
