Left footers always look better.
Both excellent users of the ball and make good decisions under pressure.

Lippa is certainly one of our best trades in recent years.

Scotty wasn’t a left footer.
Maybe have him confused with someone else.

Patty Lipinski is the reincarnation of Scott Russell, one of my fave 1990’s Collingwood players.

I hope Scott's family & friends aren't reading this, probably give them a hell of a fright!

Quite a few people thought pick 43 was overs for Patty.
We can now see that it was way unders.
Given he is still young, you'd think his peak years are still ahead of him.

Yes getting Patty for 43 went some way towards squaring the ledger with the Dogs, after they mugged us in the Treloar trade.

Given the price to dump $850k over two years appears to be pick #7, the Treloar trade looks better and better.

I said at the time it was a great trade period and it was the media snowball effect of anti-Collingwood hysteria. We dumped salary and got younger and better.

Fair difference between the quality of Treloar and Bowes though. Wouldn’t say we won the Treloar trade but we made good of a bad situation. The Bulldogs even despite getting him for little, still have him on the hook for $1.8 million for 3 more years.

The Dogs looked flummoxed with where to play him this season, albeit they do have absolute midfield riches and three better forward/mid options than Adam in Dunkley, Smith and Bontempelli to which no other side comes close.

When he lined up at half back I was prepared to get the popcorn out. Burns the ball and not a particularly capable player defensively. It reeked of them trying to find somewhere to push him as opposed to actually playing Adam in a position that best suits his strengths.

All in all just a weird vibe.

I would do that Treloar trade again every day of the week if we had that kind of cap pressure. Some of the salary dump was due to backloading, and we were just paying the dogs outstanding salary we owed Treloar from previous years.

Started on fire but the rest of the H/A season was fairly patchy.

But

really liked what I saw from him in the finals, felt like he realised he's one of our main cogs and needs to lead by example.
