Hey league, wanted to float something by you all. I am personally not liking the free agent cap being set at 5 (yes i know I'm the one who set it at this), i think it's a bit too low and while it encourages people to be selective which is good i think it's a bit tough on teams who are fielding donuts due to injuries etc. and who are copping said donuts as opposed to making a list change. I propose to raise the number of free agency moves allowed in a season to 10. Can i get most of you to vote on this please, at least enough votes to get a clear majority one way or another. Thanks!

Yeah it's scraps but a scrap is better than a donut. 5-0 for 10 so far, looks like everyone is either for 10 or doesn't mind.

Thanks for the speedy responses guys, think I've got enough to lock in the rule change, settings have been changed so everyone can now make 10 acquisitions per season.

I'm sorry but this is an OUTRAGEOUS mid season rule change. I am happy for it to be increased for NEXT season but this was known from the draft.

If you ****wits didn't pick enough players to field a team that is not my problem. As I have said I would be more than happy to trade my excess players playing in a trade.

If this is the way the league is going to operate it is a complete farce.

Five trades is more than enough to cover LONG TERM injuries - its not my problem if you muppets want to blow them all before the season is done.

How about some basic farking data analysis first - how many bench players played across the entire league last week? I'm guessing it is WAY more than enough to allow everyone to field a team.

I am truly stunned a decision like this was taken so quickly and unilaterally - especially in a league with such long term drafting implications.

I'm not quite as passionate about it as this but I agree, the rules were set before the draft, we all knew them, we drafted accordingly. We're only one round in, what rule might change after round 2? Seems like a bit of a knee jerk reaction with no real evidence backing it up

Yeah, I drafted a bloke like Frawley with my last pick for example, because I was under the impression it was only going to be 5 FA moves a season.

Therefore I had a guy who was more or less a lock to play 22 games and he could cover if it looked like I was going to get a donut.

If I'd known it was going to be 10 FA moves, my drafting over the last 10 or so rounds would have been considerably different...

Wow wow wow. Calm down Paris, this is why i asked for everyone's opinions...I obv was being hasty changing it. It was hardly a unilateral decision, half the league had responded positively to it and no one had been against it so i figured everyone was either for it or didn't care. Clearly i was wrong. Ok now Reggie and Dignan are also against it. Alright i don't want to piss managers off, i should have waited til everyone had responded, apologies, sometimes i forget that people aren't online as much as me. I'm going to reduce it back to 5, and will not change any rules during the season. Any managers who made changes in the last 18 hours can have the option to reverse their changes if they choose. They need to post in this thread in the next 48 hours, if they do so they can have the player/s they dropped back and i will edit their number of transaction made to be in line with what it was pre my change. This applies to myself tenderwarrior FRROST i will keep my change. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Frrost has said he's keeping his changes, as have I so the 3 dropped by TT and MM are able to be added. I have a feeling tenderwarrior is going to reverse his though since he's already made 3. While it's unlikely someone puts in a claim on the rook TW dropped, no one is to put in a claim on Rotham unless TW comes in and says he wants to keep his change. Cheers.

I assumed the majority voted for the change, in which case it wasn't 'unilateral'. As it stands deeman87 jumped the gun with the change. Votes were 5-0 in favour. I agree he should have waited, but it was an honest mistake I am sure.

I think a simple post saying you think changes should wait until end of year would have been enough. What is wrong with being polite and respectful?

Threatening to quit and calling other coaches derogatory names is not the way to go about it. Infact this type of outburst should not be tolerated. I think I am right is saying this is the 2nd time iluvparis has been abusive and has threatned to quit?

If iluvparis or any other coach is going to continue to rant and be abusive either they need to be replaced or I will have to consider my position in the league. Coaches that act in this way are not compatible with a healthy and sustainable Dynasty League.

Regarding the change to 10 Free Agent selections - is it still open for a majority vote or are we instantly rewarding abusive and unacceptable behavior?

Unless it's a unanimous decision you should stick with the rules laid out at the start of the comp.

Yeah. I refrained from voting and stated I was happy either way. I think rule changes should wait till end of season personally, but if everybody was happy to vote on it I wasn't fussed.

I don't think we should be glossing over abusive posts with humour though. This is not Bay13.

Nah TDD threatened to quit before not Paris. Honestly, while i would like to leave it open to a vote, we have 3 managers who seem to be very against it. If it was just Paris then I'm not sure, however both Reggie and Dignan have also opposed this albeit in a much nicer way. As Bilc stated i don't think it's fair to change it once we're in the season if multiple managers are against it.

As for Paris' outburst, i agree it was unwarranted, he most certainly could've said it in a nicer way and threatening to quit is certainly not the way to go about it. fwiw him threatening to quit had nothing to do with my revoking the change. It was the fact that there were 3 managers very against it which there's no going past. While i do agree with you TW that Paris' response was well over the top I'm not going to make a huge deal of it this time. Paris please refrain from calling coaches or myself names and please try to be a little more polite when posting about such an issue. I do get that i incited you and your opinion is definitely valued and warranted but just go about it in a nicer way in the future please. Thanks!

Also I know i stated i waa going to hold onto Marsh and i probably will but I'm going to take an hour or two to think it over as I'm worried about my depth and i did drop a guy who got a game last week.

Haha fair call. The rules will be altered here and there you will have to deal with that but i will hold off changing them til the off season before the draft and delistings are made.
