He won something like 13 out of 16 trophies he competed in. It will increase to 18 trophies, but its an amazing achievement.

Still short of Reals 5 European Cups in a row, or Bayern Munich and Ajax going 3 in a row in the 70's, AC Milan 89, 90 or Liverpools 4 in 7 years.

He'll also fall short of coaches like Shankly, Ferguson and Mourinho who salvaged and recovered teams that weren't at the top. It only took Mourinho one season to surpass his team, which may have been a contributing factor in his decision.

I hope he stays on and becomes an all time great

i assume roughly translated is boys, im leaving barca?
Yep I googled the rest of it and is translated into:

Pep Guardiola has already told his players that does not follow at Barcelona next season. After four successful years in the state Barca coach has taken the decision to leave and close the most glorious period in the history of the club.

This form is just a stage marked by the good football and titles, as led by Pep Guardiola, the club has won 13 titles, including two Champions League titles and three league titles.

No club will ever repeat that many in a row again. No club can even win a 2 in a row anymore nowadays. Probably a large part of the reason for that is that it's become much harder to win the CL than in the past because there are more good teams in it nowadays. In the past when there was only 1 representative per country competition was less fierce.

I don't think Pep actually cares about become a great. He could walk straight into Chelsea if he wanted - Abramovich seems to want him bad - but he just doesn't have that ambition at the moment. I can't imagine Mourinho taking time off for example.

Oh and Vilanova is taking over.

Remember him?

In his press conference Pep said he'd decided to quit in December already, but obviously couldn't tell his players at the time.

What a man :thumbsu: Always charismatic, humble, the contrast with Mourinho re complaining about refereeing decisions couldn't possibly be any bigger, self-critical...

My highlight was seeing him run down the sideline at Stamford Bridge 3 years ago after Iniesta scored, and then apologising to Chelsea in the press conference afterward, saying "I'm very sorry but I hope you understand, I was really happy" :)

I don't think we'll see him back too soon. He's not just taking a year off I reckon, you don't just quit this side, as a lifetime Barcelona boy, only to take a year off. Who knows we'll see him back at the club one day.

not suprised how many times mourinho is mentioned in a guardiola byebye thread. obviously has made an impression and can't get mourinho out of your minds. this is a normal thing for any barca fan with regard to real madrid afteral. even in the most glorious time in the history of barca real madrid has been matching them at the top of the table for the past two seasons with a brand new manager.

embaressing for the small club who has zero records in la liga to their name.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Football_records_in_Spain

pep didnt build this team and he took off when it stopped winning. pathetic for him to be regarded as great when compared to mourinho who destroyed him and knocked their best period in their history off after just 1 season. the most glorious time in barca history and real madrid break another record, their own, most goals scored in la liga. this small club will always be in real madrids shadow.

byebye pep
