So is the footbridge really going to delay the opening and impact the chances of an ashes test at the venue or was it just election time BS?

Looking at these photos gives me chills It feels so MCG-esque in the sense that great things are going to happen in that stadium.Stadium pics - starting south-east and walking anti-clockwise

What are the four grey squares near the boundary at the bottom of the picture? Looks the right distance to be goal posts foundations but I don't see why they would be that far from the fence - if the playing field is only that small why would they have built the oval even longer than that?
There are two more a bit above that, probably more likely related to the drainage systems or somethingWhat are the four grey squares near the boundary at the bottom of the picture? The latest rendered image of the completed project from the official website. A lot more green around the stadium than earlier renders. Its spectacular.

I think it's just for public use on non event days. Heard it will be used for event parking aswellProbably a stupid question but what's the northern oval for?
I'm curious to know the effects extra seating have on membership sales. Half the incentive for having a WC/Freo membership was the comfort of a guaranteed seat. Knowing you will be able to get a quality seat at pretty much every game could decrease membership numbers, especially considering the expected membership price hikes.
This wouldn't be such a massive problem for the eagles but I can see an issue for the dockers in the future, anyone have any info on this?
For the Eagles, existing members, plus waiting list easily exceeds the likely number of members seat allocations at the new stadium, so do not think a lot of people are going to drop of.I'm curious to know the effects extra seating have on membership sales. I know of two in the wings members offered what was, to them, unreasonable offers for a seat at the new stadium and will take the GA route. It has been publicly stated that the only sold out games will most likely be the Derby and finals so it seems like a calculated risk considering there will essentially be no 'bad' seats. For the Eagles, existing members, plus waiting list easily exceeds the likely number of members seat allocations at the new stadium, so do not think a lot of people are going to drop of.
I live in the country, and work a lot of weekends, and given difficulties getting a ticket to Eagles games, I no longer even bother looking, that is likely to change for me, and I suspect a lot of others. So imo, anyone giving up Eagles memberships at this stage thinking they will just be able to buy a GA ticket may be in for a shock.
I just laugh at the fact that for me a bad seat is one on the top level, while for Perth fans a bad seat is a bench with a pole in front of it. For only one year more my friend, then we will be laughing when you accidentally tread on your beers while we are all fancy sipping out of our custom drink holders watching replays on the biggest screen in the Southern Hemisphere!I just laugh at the fact that for me a bad seat is one on the top level, while for Perth fans a bad seat is a bench with a pole in front of it. Let's hope the screens are the biggest and the Eagles and the Dockers don't use a half for advertising, quarter for the score and only a quarter for the game.
My guess is this is what will happen.
That's kinda the point of having a massive screen - so that all that stuff can go on there and you still have a large video image area.Let's hope the screens are the biggest and the Eagles and the Dockers don't use a half for advertising, quarter for the score and only a quarter for the game.

It's practically a given that there will be advertising on it (it's prime space as everyone looks at the screen during the game) and the score as well, so that the home team can have it in their colours etc.
