This is where all the money goes, so many think all this money goes to the WAFL yet so little of it goes to the WAFL.
absolute millions and millions wasted on administration that bring in no income what so ever.
Don't know how the people running the WAFC can sleep at night knowing how much money they waste on admin.

The programs have to many people involved in them getting paid. It is not about cutting the programs but more about cutting some of the staff servicing these programs.
Things of course have changed a lot over the last 30 odd years but football was doing great 30 years ago without all these admin people.
Why does the WAFC need people to look after South West Football, the South West Football league have their own board and people. It is just doubling up for the sake of things.
80% of football money should be going to football clubs to develop football players, not admin people with phones and cars driving around the countryside thinking they are actually doing anything.

Have heard the WAFC review has a recommendation(from one of the two consultants running the process) that eliminating middle management and role overlap is a key focus.

So apparently Gold Coast want to play a HOME game at the new stadium in 2018

"The AFL has insisted that Port achieve a deal with the Gold Coast due to Metricon Stadium being unavailable until round 11 next season due to the 2018 Commonwealth Games. The Suns will soon announce a package of home games at venues including the Gabba, Cairns and potentially the new AFL stadium in Perth."

Every review ever conducted says eliminate middle management.

If you actually met some of the donkeys junior levels competition directors have to report to, you’d quickly realise they need to get lost.

The flogs can’t even pad their LinkedIn profile properly because they truly don’t do a thing.

Least there’s actual easy targets, whether this particular consultant will have their recommendations delivered is another matter.

The AFL won't allow Perth to be used for this purpose. They have blocked other clubs (eg North Melb) earning $ via playing a home game in Perth.

A good indication to people who might not know Perth too well - how far it is from the city etc.

The AFL will insist Cairns or Alice Springs or Tasmania or ... will get the game(s) instead

Killjoys. But are the AFL going to compensate them if they lose money on such games. Presumably the clubs that play at Cairns, Darwin, Hobart or Alice Springs already have contracts there. Not sure GC will get any similar sort of money to play games there, they might actually lose money on the venture.

I dunno, imagine the cash influx of a 60k home game for the gold coast. They would have to sell all the tickets at ticket price not members prices. They could probably afford to fly any fans over with the cash they make from this money.

WAFC doesn't sign agreement for eagles and dockers. Gold coast first to play at stadium. Bookmark it ;)

DRAWN-OUT Perth Stadium negotiations are over, with a historic deal reached today between the AFL, WA Football Commission and the State Government.

It is understood the formal signing of the agreement will take place inside the stadium on Sunday and guarantees that footy kicks off the 2018 AFL season at the $1.5 billion venue.

Football agreed to terms to switch games to Perth Stadium and to relinquish its long-term lease at Domain Stadium at a WA Football Commission meeting on Wednesday night.

It is understood that football’s final concerns centred on the handling of a review, scheduled for seven years into the first 10 years of the deal.

The State Government has agreed that in the first 10 years of the agreement, football will be guaranteed $10.3 million a year from the stadium economy to fund the WAFL and junior and grassroots football, replacing income generated from football’s control of Domain Stadium.

In the second 10 years of the agreement, the WAFC would be able to access up to $10.3 million from money generated by AFL matches at the ground.

Football wanted greater assurance that it would be financially supported if the review revealed its share of the stadium economy was falling short of $10.3 million.
