gameplay looks disgustingly good. demo comes out soon (tomorrow?) will have a gander.
DID NOT KNOW THAT!

I know what I'll be doing this weekend :D

I agree, it looks great. I just hope they have fixed the horrible refereeing like we have seen in PES 2015. But that Juve vs Roma demo looked very pleasing on the eye to watch.

passing just feels so good. feels so right. defending is ridiculously tight. your own team mates will actually defend. you can see it when you're defending, the back 4 will play in a line, and rarely break as the best players. having a fluid tactic is brilliant, the midfielders drop back deeper and the wide players tuck in. havent played it on a harder difficulty than whatever it is at first but doing anything just feels so satisfying.

the best players feel the best, which is something different from fifa. it's not about the fastest, the best players on the park are a cut above. which is just absolutely fantastic. and i've enjoyed how just cos you make a mistake you're not completely out of it. if your players are quick they can actually catch up, and jostling is a life saver that pes has needed. nowhere near the amount of soft fouls as fifa, and you can see the tackling mechanics at work.

slide tackles are very slidey though. had a couple of red cards already cos a player has slid too far.

I agree, passing feels great. I have noticed some lovely outside of the boot toe pokes for passes, they look great. Did some nice ones with Muller.

I have noticed card happy referees are gone, barely picked up any bookings, which is good considering it was almost impossible not to get a yellow in 15.

Anybody else notice the frustration players show when they're not awarded a foul? Saw several times players last night thumping the ground out of frustration - really liked that.

Also - dynamic rain is coming. Meaning, it can start/stop raining midway through a match. Small feature, but I reckon that will be sick, particularly because a wet pitch will affect the play.

Played United last night, 2-2 at 94min, they cross it into their box and I cleared it but at the same time my keeper tripped me over. Ref blows the whistle and points to the spot, gives my keeper a red card and a United penalty...

Talk about wanting United to win so bad!!!

Downloaded and have given the demo a bit of a go.

While it's not going to get me to transition from FIFA just yet, it's definitely the most promising, gameplay wise that PES has been for a long time from my perspective. There's some really nice dynamic things that occur during a match that I really do like.

It's just a few niggles here and there that I am not really a fan of (as well as the lack of licenses - regardless of 'ways around it'). Things like the UI still being cumbersome and overall generally poor, it's definitely more improved than I've seen it before, but just weird things and naming conventions make it hard to jump right in (command list for controls is just...weird). Also not a big fan of the default gameplay camera and the way it moves, just seems a little slow at times to move and almost moves too much as well.

But gameplay wise, I was pretty impressed. I like that the ball never felt magnetised to the players feet, it always felt like there was a potential for the ball to be knocked loose through body work or good play, makes defending feel pretty good as well.

Teammate AI was really good too, movement, positioning and runs were great and didn't need me to force any situations. Was able to get some lovely through balls in to a teammate that was just cutting inside a defender if I was coming up the middle drawing in defenders.

Probably need to have a better go at shooting, but it felt a bit inconsistent, what I was wanting to do with the ball didn't necessarily translate to my shots. I suppose that's where I should use the 'controlled shot' more?

Overall, still most likely not going to win me over, but gameplay wise I'm definitely impressed.
