CLAYTON THORSON - Not entirely sure I get the 'why' of this pick, coverage for Sudfeld if he moves on next season I suppose.

He's got excellent balance and very fluid, but he gets a bit top-heavy, and his hand work tends to focus too high. So he'll be susceptible to bull rushes from shorter Ends, and spin moves. He'll have some issues with holding calls until the coaches coach it out of him.Any thoughts on Dillard GG.exe or any other board regulars?
Watched his press conference today, switched on dude, loving the pick.
I think "for now" says it all. Agree on Thorson, he is a many year "hope" project, no doubt Howie would have spent the night working out who is available and who is worth a stab as a QB2.Dougy says they'll stick with Kessler for now but assuming there will be as little as possible of Wentz this preseason, I dont really see this working as Thorson was terrible today.
August 31 is the deadline to get to 53, but the bottom players of the current 90 roster will get cut slowly along the way once the team decides they are no chance for the final roster or practice squad. When do roster cuts happen?
Yes but Thorson is QB2 we are screwed with one injury Mind you Kessler is barely QB2 standard either.
Now yes, previously not so much #WeLoveYouStNickWe're always screwed with one injury, if that one injury is Wentz.
I don't agree about our depth. Johnson/Peters start but LJ is already injured and Peters is forever getting injured at his age. First replacements are a rookie (Dillard) and Big V who can be hot and cold. Then finally our boy Mailata who may not be up to rookie level yet. Other option is to slide Wiz or Pryor from guard to tackle but they are solid backups at best.Reckon it might be a IR type body. We have a lot of depth at OT

Makes sense, though it also creates an interesting numbers dilemma. I don't think Sudfield is out long enough to be placed on IR, and $2mil fully guaranteed is more than just training camp extra body money for McCown. Wentz, McCown, Sudfield, Kessler, Thorson .... So I'm guessing Kessler becomes the odd man out and we just eat his dead cap space of $720k.
