Same here, always pretty negative but I give us a big chance.

I've kind of had a feeling that us losing is inevitable all week.

I try not to be a conspiracy theorist when it comes to sport. Otherwise, what's the point? Where's the enjoyment if you don't believe in any of it?

Problem with that is that even in just the last 3 weeks, KC have had too many egregiously shitty favourable calls for it to be an accident. First downs called when they were 3 yards short. Catches awarded when it should've gone to the other team. Bullshit roughing penalties against Mahomes. Getting away with grievous bodily harm on opposition receivers and QBs.

I don't believe the whole NFL is a conspiracy, but similar to how we watched Cameron Smith and the Melbourne Storm "manage referees" for years, leading to them getting constantly favourable outcomes, there's something about this KC team and the refs, and it's beyond coincidental.

I can't see Howie doing it with what they'll be asking.

Don't think we should/need to either. We're good enough without him, keep getting young/hungry players in and make the most of them on cheap deals.

As good as this would be, we have the youngest defense in the league who will want their pound of flesh.

Carter, Smith Jnr, Baun and Dean will want to be paid in the next year or so.

Unless Howie can conjure some more magic and get the offensive players to restructure their contracts in some way to more team friendly deals.

I never worry too much about the cap these days as it's an illusion most of the time imo (for Howie at least) and I think there is a big bump coming at some point soon iirc.

We've got the QB locked up on not outrageous money so should be able to make the rest work to one degree or another but there will always be players moved on that we'd rather see stay, just nature of the business.
