Pointless because it all depends where Judd wants to go. We just need to wait and see. Seems 90% likely that he'll want to go to the Pies from all reports. Lets just focus on keeping our draft picks and getting the very best talent.
or we trade Kennedy for pick #73 and a gentleman's agreement they don't take Judd at #1 in the PSD

Sure, but that's not the point. Think about it, if both clubs wanted to acheive an outcome like this, there are a number of ways they could do it.

I agree - don't want to trade draft picks. Just use our PSD pick as a lever.
All this assumes Judd would be okay with coming to Carlton, even if his 1st preference was the mudpies, who have now got to look for a key defender as well and will struggle to do the deal.
Also gives us a great negotiating position against the WCE and if we can use that strength to get him BEFORE the PSD, we could then use that pick to get the next big name. Has Matt Maguire signed yet?

Ridiculous. What would they pay Judd with?
Don't forget, WCE are making noises about playing hardball and that could get up Judd's nose.
Judd will name his price, Carlton will be able to pay and Richmond wont.

D) 'cos what goes around, comes around. Also, I reckon they need big guys. Trying to fit Judd in could break the tiggers, whereas picking up JK for literally nothing would be good business.
WHy does everyone think the tigers cant fit him in? Richo is on record saying he and the boys would sure look at renegotiating their contracts to fit him in. It can be done. If he doesnt want to go there, well thats another story. Pies and tigers will trade heavily for that pick 2. Its just what will go with it is the sticking point

Anyway, just for humours sake, if we duid complain we would have to explain what we were trying to do......which would be cheating.......Tiges would deny any such deal.........and we get screwed...........twice!!
I wish the club would announce something, just so we can move onto talking about something new.

That's what I have to put up with all day at work, but have to bite my tongue, because the last thing you should do as a Publican is get involved in any sort of footy discussion and hold a firm view (politics and religion as well). People can crack the sads and never come to your pubs again
These types of discussions start earlier than you think by the way
Being a Blue supporter has been hell since the disaster and I have just had to suck it up
ps The fact that I played a fair bit a football at a reasonable level, as the Gastev bloke would say, also seems to give a number of people a perverse pleasure in sticking the knives in.
