One thing you got wrong Tugga. There will be 100,000 there and not 85,000

Well done Tigers:thumbsu:

I was logged on this morning watching the draft with my boss who's a long suffering Richmond supporter and we both woo hooed when we saw Benny name come up.

I'm predicting a record round 1 crowd, an emerging Richmond v Carlton was always going to draw a big crowd but Cuz v Judd will blow away the marketing dept, I just pray both are fit and ready to go.

And it's your home game so you pocket the dosh...sweeeeeeeeet:thumbsu:

round 1 2009, premiership teammates, brownlow medallists, former captains of WCE. cousins vs judd. master vs apprentice on opposite teams for the 1st time. hold on to your seats because the MCG is going to shake. To the 100,000 people inside footballs greatest stadium and the millions watching at home. ladies and gentlemen, LETS GET READY TO RUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMMMBLE! (in best michael buffer voice)

this will be the biggest sporting story since tyson bit off holyfields ear. and when cousins tears judd a new ***hole, the roar will be heard in space.

It's a balmy March evening. The MCG is packed with 85,000 supporters and the umpire holds the ball aloft. The siren sounds to commence the 2009 AFL season. Simmonds wins the hit out, which lands straight into Foley's clutches, he dishes the ball quickly out in heavy traffic to a waiting Deledio, who takes off at amazing speed and draws the player towards him. Deledio times it perfectly and whips out a lightning fast handball to Cotchin, who effortlessly evades a sluggish and still overweight Nick Stevens. Cotchin spots a player out of the corner of his eye. It's Ben Cousins. Cotchin feeds the handball out to Cousins, who sidesteps Judd, takes a bounce, runs to 45m and bangs home a goal inside 15 seconds of playing time. The roar shakes the famous Melbourne Cricket Ground to its foundations and the AFL now realises that the sleeping giant is ready to permanently awaken from its seemingly perpetual slumber. People are standing in the aisles high fiving complete strangers. It feels good to be a Richmond supporter and all is well.

Of course this has been highly dramatised for effect, but the point I'm trying to make is that people are excited again. The off season has just become longer and more unbearable.

Beautiful. there a clip on youtube that i watch every year and it makes me miss football ill find the link.

You were doing so well until this point:)

I can see a huge melee erupting before the bounce..

Cousins will get some attention, Coughlan and Simmonds will join in to help him out. and then it's on.....

What about Polak. Still looking good to line up round 1?

Last years round 1 crowd=73,000
+5,000(most likely much better weather than last years cold wet night)
+5,000(the game will start at 7:30 and not 6:00 like last year when some couldn't go due to work)
+5,000(game will probably be shown delayed this time instead of live like last year where some stayed home or watched it at pub)
+5,000(more tiger and nuetral supporters will show up to see Cousins)
+5,000(both clubs are the 2 clubs predicted to rise up the ladder and into the top 6, compared to last year both teams were previously cellar dwellers on the improve)
+2,000(we'll have new supporters due to the Cousins and Cotchin factor)
=100,000

- 15,000 Carlton supporters not there to see Judd make his premiership debut like last year. =85,000

That is because you are a negative **** head who should of been drowned at birth.

Boy it's true the Tigers do eat their own:eek:

Seriously, Cousins is a great get. I'm rapt Carlton didn't consider getting him. The roar is back. Well done Richmond - especially having the balls to stand out from all the politically correct bullshit that clubs were worried about. He won't reoffend. Enjoy 09.
