Competitions Player Advocates 2019

It's about time we got the player advocate program up and running for 2019. This will run in a similar form to the last couple of years. We'll field interest and once we have enough posters (45 or so - happy to extend this to the Category B rookies and international scholarship holders if there is enough interest) we'll run a draft with a completely randomised order, apart from the top spot which has been decided by the moderators as a reward for doing the best job in 2018.

The job of an advocate is essentially to 'look after' a certain player and player thread for the the 2019 season, whether that be posting articles, stats, game reviews, highlight videos or just general musings! The players board can be a bit dull at times so it's a good idea to try and get some discussion happening. We understand not everyone has time to post weekly reviews and every single article that mentions their advocates name but there is some expectation to make an effort - after all it is likely that some people will miss out on being in the draft. But with a number of advocates failing to make a single post in their chosen players thread in 2018, we're going to have a little higher expectations of advocates this year.

Assuming he will take a spot again in 2019, the top pick will be given to Brains Trust66
Congrats on doing a stellar job mate :D

If all goes to plan we will run the draft this Thursday or Friday night. Once the AFL Rookie Draft is completed and we get a couple of new boys through the door then we will offer some of you guys to take them on too if you feel like it. Or for anyone who misses out from the initial advocates draft, of course.

As always, if there are any suggestions, criticisms or questions about how we run this and any way we could improve it please let us know.

Thanks guys. Keep them coming.

If you would like to advocate for more than one player let me know and once we have a final tally whoever wants to take up a second, third, fourth etc player, their next picks will be added to the end of the queue.

Off topic but i had a dream about Sam Alabakis (it was PG13) last night so maybe it's a sign. although for some reason he had one arm significantly smaller than the other. I remember thinking he'll struggle to get more marks that big Billy with that thing, but at least he had one good arm for hitouts.

Thanks for the response guys!

That's 12 so far, I am happy to jump in if we need numbers at the end too.

I'd say if we can get about 30-40 on board, we'll start the draft.

I'm happy to do it again, thanks for saying I could go first, I'm honoured. I will help out with extras if need be, I have time on my hands lol. Happy to help out again.

Happy to take two or more if needed.

Go Saints
