Billie Smedts has moved onto Carlton as part of the Zac Touhy deal.


Billie never really got a clean run at GFC with his injuries and hopefully this improves for him at the Blues.

We wish him well.

Whilst I knew it was possibility, we all hoped it would not come.

Michael Luxford has been released and will not be required for the 2017 season.

After a slow start, Lux made his AFL debut in 2015 for 2 games and was elevated to the senior list. Quite the achievement for the basketballer.

He played 0 senior games in 2016 however.

I have updated Tuohy to 2020 as the article on the club site basically confirms he signed for 4 years. I have left Black at TBA as we don't know how many years he was given and same with Ruggles-we don't know whether he was elevated on a one or two year extension.

For those interested players out of contract next year will be:

we don't have a confirmed contract length on these guys so any of them could potentially be OOC (although I reckon Henderson would have been given longer than 2 years so I doubt he is OOC).
 
I have updated the thread to add our 6 national draft selections from Friday. Please note while Parfitt Narkle and Ratugolea must be on mandatory 2 year deals as Stewart House and Abbott are mature age they could possibly be on 1 year deals however I have listed them as 2 years (2018) until we hear some confirmation from the club on their contract length.

I have updated the list for Duncan re-signing and I have also changed the top of the OP to group the contracts by year on year of where they expire to make it much easier to read. The master list of contracts nos 1-46 is still at the bottom of the OP.

The list management team has their hands full..

Mackie and Domsy will go you'd think. That saves a bit.

However, with development comes rewards...

Cockatoo, Kolo, Menzel, Lang, Buzza, Gardner, Menegola, Bews, Motlop and Parsons all are going need new deals.
Add Smith, Stanley, Hendo, Black, and Ruggles.

Thats a lot of increased contracts to fit under the SC before looking at new players.....

Who'd be a list manager?!?!

Both Simpson and Zuthrie have been upgraded to senior list so no longer Rookies - only Jones and Henry left currently I think.

Not sure how long it will last with Parfiit coming back... but we will see.

Not changing master list yet - Parsons I did based on contract so thats an auto upgrade for 2018.

Do we have any idea when Hayball got a 1 year extension that necessitated his rookieing?
