West Coast won far less hit-outs in 2017 than 2016. Their number of clearances was basically exactly the same (played one more game in 2017)
As regards stoppage clearances, they didn't miss Natanui at all.

Lol at rating Sam Jacobs so highly.
Isn't even among the top 5 ruckmen in the league IMO. People continually get suckered in by his raw hitout numbers, and disposal and mark tallies, without realising that his actual ruck and stoppage work is average, and his ball use is mediocre and rarely damaging.
Jacobs averages 69% disposal efficiency, Gawn is at 69%, Ryder at 63%, Grundy at 66%, Kruezer is at 58%, so he’s actually right up there for ball use as an elite ruckman.
Robbie Gray at 10???
Gets a lot less contested ball than the others too, which will affect disposal efficiency.
Fair, but of that list the player with around the same contested ball numbers was Gawn, who had the same efficiency percentage.
Jacobs also has a higher kick-handball ratio then a lot of other ruckman, this would bring DE% down.
Fair enough.
Is there an argument to be made for Jacobs as a ruckman that involves actual ruckwork, instead of disposals or marks?
