As much as I laugh at Michael Firrito for his lack of any visible talent and funny surname, I must begrudgingly admire his determination to get himself to 270 odd games at the top level, puts many players like Garlett to shame. Who else do you think has gotten the absolute best out of themselves? Is Michael Firrito the epitome of guts and determination?

Kane Cornes by a country mile. Very little talent. No speed. Never had a booming kick. The only thing he was ever really good at was running. 300 games, 4x b&f and premiership player. Not bad at all.

Darren Glass. Could never kick but was brilliant at defending

Did exactly what was asked of him week in week out. Always admired him

I nominate Crowley. Adapted his game style to suit the changing needs of the team and his wavering ability. Pissed a lot of opposition players (two in particular for lulz) and even more fans, but got the most out of himself with over 200 games for a player know mainly as a tagger

In the same vein as Sam Mitchell, Greg Williams, twice rejected by Carlton, ended up a dual Brownlow Medallist, member of the Team of the Century, Premiership player, Norm Smith Medal winner and dual League MVP / Leigh Matthews Medal recipient. B&Fs at both Geelong and Carlton, Big V rep. All Australian, multiple HoF and teams of the century.
