I saw there wasn't one of these threads for this year, I thought I would create one.

I will start:

B.Newton V T.Miller

(I have the cheaper rooks I want, for me the last place is between these 2)

I am torn. I can afford one in their price bracket. Its line ball for me. I think Miller looks like a higher ceiling but Newton has better job security.

Miller a likely sub candidate too, Newton would be my pick :thumbsu:

Thats what I was thinking as well. It's bugging me though this comparison. I would love them both but I am not downgrading an onfield player to have them both.

I know the feeling, mid structure is difficult this year. who is your current rookie set up?

My current mid Rookes:

M: Cripps, Ellis-y, Vandenberg, Saad (DPP link), Newton

Very likely to change

Newts in that one

Mitchell or zieball

elite

Titchell has a huge ceiling, Greater then zieball but also has the emergency/vest risk.

If titchell plays every game, could easily be a top 6 forward. Big if!!!

So the safe option is zieball

Sidebottom vs Pendlebury

Beams vs Selwood vs Heppel
Sidebottom and Beams.

Docherty v Kolodjashnij v Higgins v Enright v Hurn

For a draft league.

Would love to get a second opinion on this, I'm running out of time.

Higgins definitely I would have first. I would probably go hurn or kolo@#$FDscd next
Thanks mate. I was leaning towards Higgins or Kolo but found it very hard to split them.

Higgins you know you are going to get 80+, this year could easily be 85+. Kolo needs a lot of improvement to get up to that average. I think Kolo could be anywhere from low 70's to about the 85 mark.

So my team is just about locked, last night I did a few changes to my rookies. I feel there's no point starting with players who have really poor job security.

What I did was traded in Blake Acres who will get plenty of game time, will always be available if I need any cover for what ever reason but most importantly he can just sit on my bench and will easily make me 100k, I swapped him out for Karl Amos who really has a poor job security and would need an injury to really be have a spot in their line up.

For my R4 spot I've put in Andrew Phillips, like rookie ruck options he's not in the best 22 but GWS do like to play with the two rucks and if anything happened to Mummy or Tomlinson he'll be straight in so he will get games, more than most rookie rucks. I took out Jason Holmes who still has a long way to go, even if he does get games I really can't see it been more than three or four games.

The Holmes and Phillips trade isn't that big of a worry as both won't play overly man minutes and they're not going to be scoring overly high scores so they won't be making that much coin and it won't be at to rapid of a pace, If Phillips did start getting some games or Mummy/Tomlinson did get injured I can just worry about bringing him in then. If I was to go with option A then I would spend that extra cash on upgrading Holmes to Phillips. But to make it easier to give your opinion on I'll keep it to three for three.

Option A:
Shane Mumford, Harley Bennell and Blake Acers

Option B:
Sam Jacobs, Dane Swan and Karl Amos.

So essentially can I afford to trade out Sam Jacobs and Dane Swan to Harley Bennell to give me a guaranteed money maker who will play get games? Or even will Bennell on his on put forward a case to be able to average more than Swan this season.
