I reckon Sampi may suprise a few this year. People will be absolutely stunned a player can actually be that terrible and useless on a football field :thumbsu:

I am thinking the same about Kingsley...will love having Richo & Brown in the forward line with him.

The way he is talked about on this forum is typical reactionary stuff, not looking past what is in the short term memory. The bloke probably won't kick as many goals as he his in the last 5 (excluding last year of course) but he can still be very valuable to the Tiges. If he kicked 40 odd which is about his average I would think that the supporters would be pretty happy.

James Frawley won't even play this year. He was just drafted ffs, Melbourne only rarely let first year players debut (Clint Bartram was just one out of the bag playing 22 last year) especially KP players.

You want a player from Melbourne who will surprise? Take any of Matthew Bate, Nathan Jones, Brock McLean, Colin Sylvia or Clint Bartram.

All regulars, all under 21, all capable of surprising. Who really knows though.

You have taken a gamble there with Scott Welsh suprising for the Crows, we all know what the man is capable of, he kicked 58 goals in 05, but didnt play much games due to injury in 06. Not really a player that can suprise, and spark a team. I would go for Robert Shirley, because he isnt a big name player, but does the job week in week out, on the best players in the business, one of the forgotten taggers in the game.

And also, it would be very hard to see St.Kilda forward Fergus Watts really suprise in the AFL this year, as he has just gotten back from a broken leg in 2006. It would be difficult for him to have an oustanding season

Do you really think so? I don't know if i can see either of them getting a game. Though, i never thought Auskick would get a game.

People who watched the 2's all year thought that Laidlaw really has talent and will make into a very good running half back. Thornton was continually in the best in the 2's in the second half of 2006 and indeed the GF, and apparently improved dramatically as the season went on. Mail is he needs to bulk up but certainly finds the footy. Ones to watch in the pre season comp, put a big circle around their names.

Sydney's Competition in their reserve league is about as Competitive as a Barbequed CHicken Swimming a 1500m against Grant Hackett.

Maybe a guy like heath Grundy or Schmidt (is he still on your list?)

Saints - Goddard?
He was the surpirse of 06

I think Barry Brooks is the saints surprise man.

Ade - Shirley

west coast I'm gonna go for Staker, he has all the physical qualities and now experience to become a solid player. we usually have at least one big guy step up each year, lynch graham hunter cox etc etc.
as far as smalls butler (though to most eagles fans this won't be a big surprise) and hopefully Morton.

Look out for gun years from Tambling at Richmond, Van Berlo at Adelaide, Richards at Sydney (if he can stay on the park), Lovett-Murray at Essendon, the only Cloke left at Collingwood (and future captain), Brennan at the Lions, X Clarke at St Kilda, Motlop at PA a roughie and down at Carlton expect big things from the canteen ladies me thinks...

Would agree with most of that except Cloke being captain, l'm hoping you are taking the piss.

Ps. how can you support both Portsmouth and Sunderland?

Daniel Cross won't be surprising Dogs supporters. I reckon he should have won our B&F last year based on sheer workrate.
