Fact Players who never seem to kick goals

It's quibling over terms, but I just see all of them as crumbing forwards, which is a role where the job description now requires increased defensive pressure compared to what it used to. I'm aware of Alwyn Davey's goals per game average, and I still think the only really "special" aspect of his game is his tackling ability. Rioli is overhyped here on Big Footy, but there is somewhat of a basis for it. By watching Cyril Rioli, he provides more than just goals and tackling, and myself and many others see him having more scope to move beyond the crumbing forward role and eventually play as a creative midfielder - like Leon Davis is now, but much better. For the hype that Davey has gotten, you'd think he'd been scoring 30-40 goals a season on top of his tackling numbers the last couple of years.
Fair comment and I think most Essendon fans think Alwyn could do more... but every time he had been interviewed he describes his number 1 job as tackling and applying pressure. At this he is probably the best.

I remember the Scanlan footy cards in the late 80s early 90s (always smelled like gum. They were great!)

I don't know what year it was but Guy McKenna was the only bloke in the set with 0 goals (and I think he was at about the 200 game mark)

Also Shanahan did play on Jarman in the 2nd half of the Grandfinal, and to the bloke whose uncle had 5 kicked against him in 66... Thank him for me :)

Joel Corey has played 10 seasons and hasn't managed to crack double figures for goals in any of them. He'd cover the most ground for Geelong or if not he'd be very bloody close, runs all day.
