Dear fellow Hawthorn supporters and fellow bigfooty members,
Firstly, it must be noted that I am only new to bigfooty, but like to read what a minor few have to say on this site and respect peoples opinions.
It must also be noted that I am very passionate Hawthorn supporter and have been for a very long time.
HOWEVER, i am pleading with my fellow Hawthorn supporters to stop their consistent ramping, ranting, bias and boasting of our football club.
No wonder no-one on here respects the majority of my team's supporters- and it gives a select few of us bad names.
A few points i would like to address-
Based on what do our supporters deserve to boast about our club? We have not won a grand final in 16 years and played ONE finals series since 2001, which clearly showed against North Melbourne last year. Boast, when our club actually wins a Grand Final or plays in consecutive finals series. It is ONLY Round 6.
Based on what do our supporters deserve to ridicule and demean other team's supporters- most notably Geelong and North Melbourne.
I can tell you now, Geelong are AT LEAST a 4-6 goal better side than Hawthorn. This is just reality. They are 2-3 years more advanced then Hawthorn and have a more talented list. The mere fact that my club's supporters keep bringing up how we beat them last year, annoys me. We won by 4 points in terrible conditions, in Round 5 (i think). Who won last year's grand final, Brownlow Medal, Norm Smith Medal and had half the All- Australian team? EXACTLY.
Why do our supporters abuse and demean North Melbourne, a club who on the outside have struggled financially, only to consistently prove their doubters wrong? They deserve respect, they don't have the facilities and $$ like most club's have, yet always give 100%- In case my supporters forgot, they both physically and mentally destroyed us in last year's finals, resulting in Lewis, Hodge and Crawford all getting suspended- How can you abuse their players for being soft and weak?
Franklin v Tambling- Buddy is a star in the making, and is arguably one of the top 5 players in the competition- Embrace him. Why bag Richmond supporters for picking Tambling? Tambling, un-like Buddy didn't have the luxury of having his family move from NT with him. He is only a kid, 21 years old and will be a very good player. Hawthorn were going to draft him if you can remember. Why do we never hear from our supporters how Hawthorn drafting Beau Dowler with pick 6?
Cyril Rioli not getting a nomination yet- This kid looks to be an beautifully gifted player and has shown great signs since debuting. He will get his nomination. Every other player nominated has deserved their nomination. Just be thankful we drafted such a promising player and enjoy what he does on the field, instead of worrying if he gets a nomination.
PLEASE fellow HAWTHORN supporters, try and show some respect and dignity, and you will receive it in return. If you don't like what someone has to say, try think of something logical to write back instead of using personal or demeaning insults- that is soft and weak.
When our club wins a grand final, boast and cheer all you like until then just support our team respectfully.
