he missed the game in tassie coz he was at my mates 18th. well not really the reason but thats where he was, throwing dirt on us from the window. i pondered about talking to him, but from all accounts he's not on e of the best blokes going around.

Probably because we're rotating youngsters through the pre-season matches so as to not wear them out before the season proper.

He could become a keeper, it's hard to tell at the moment. last year was really when you wanted to pick him up though

Spencer is a chance, but i'd look elsewhere. Wade Thompson from port is a good shot to play a fair bit this year

I reckon Buckley is a bit over priced, but that's just me. Especially after a slow start to the pre-season.

Anyway, re cheapies, I reckon Kyle Cheney could be a steal, especially if Wheels gets injured like he seems to get ever year. Cheney has impressed during the pre-season and is Whelan's logical replacement as a back pocket. Has impressed the coaches with his attitude, toughness and skills.

Grimes would be the other bargain, I think he'll play the majority of games and isn't too expensive.

Johnson number one ruckman this year correct, ahead of Jamar? Just wondering what his running capacity and fitness base is like? Not expecting Jeff White numbers, but if he's mobile enough and has the tank he could rise with increased minutes...

As far as DT goes I wouldn't be picking Meesen or Johnson. At their price they would have to be your 2nd playing ruckman and I think there are much better options if your looking for price hikes.

Re: Pettard. I like the look of him and I think he will be in our best 22. I fancy he'll ge better and better as the year goes on.

Re: Jetta. Bailey likes him and he is a smokey for a round 1 debut. I can see him getting chances this season.

One thing I would like to ask is why Jack Grimes didn't play. Is he injured ?

Spencer is probably you're 3rd ruck right? If Jamar/Johnson get injured he will play? Any chance he could play with Jamar AND Johnson? I recall last year a game or two with White/Johnson/Jamar all playing?

Meesen is third ruck. Spencer is rookie listed, so needs an injury to play.
