Soo champion data has released a 47 strong list of “elite” rated players for 2024. Some clubs have 1 player listed, and there’s 1 club that has 5 listed.

There is, however, 1 club whose players weren’t good enough to be considered elite this year. That club hasn’t won a final in 7,270 days.. and is looking like after this season finishes they’ll have to wait another 365.

On a related note, if you don’t support that club, feel free to post here!

Whoa, whoa, whoa...

Just looking at the Hawks there, and the name Massimo D'Ambrosio is standing out. I'm pretty sure he came to us from another club, but trying to remember who. Logically it would need to be a team bursting at the seams with 3-4 elite talents, as anyone with less would surely not let a gun just go like that. So, where did he come from? Carlton, Geelong, GWS, GCS, Melbourne, Sydney, WCE, Bulldogs...would have to be one of them.

That would be the club that has an obsession with recruiting Italians.

It’s such a flawed system. Putting them in position boxes so when the players who get midfield time smash it, they get called elite.
Of course it’s flawed lol. Not even Lachie Neale or Nat Fyfe are listed and they’re dual Brownlow medallists lol. However, this is the bay. I certainly wasn’t going to ignore an opportunity to troll Essendon!

While I respect the troll, I do not respect champion data. Just look at what happened to Norf when they took over their recruiting for a few years. They watched moneyball and decided it applied to drafting with awesome picks.

If they had just invented a new category called fat-wannabe-midfielder, Jake Stringer would have been elite at something.

If you discount players that were gifted by father son rules, Collingwood are also at Essendon levels
That's true, but father-sons are not discounted. So despite having 42% disposal efficiency against a team of non-elite players a couple of weeks ago, he is considered elite, so Collingwood flogs can post here.
